Wifi is a device invented by Spencer Liverman and Qiwie Wang and these are the student of Oregon State, The purpose of this project is to increase the bandwidth of wifi network upto to 10 times using LED lights,
The system uses inexpensive components to send data at 100 Megabits per second (Mbps). Although some current WiFi systems have similar bandwidth it has to be divided by the number of devices, so each user might be receiving just 5 to 10 Mbps, whereas the hybrid system could deliver 50-100 Mbps to each user.

The Wifo uses the LEDs lights that could not be seen by human eyes to creates an invisible cone of light about a meter square in which the data can be received.

This was a prototype designed in 2015, but I am not sure, if it has really evolved to be a full scale product, that can be bought from the market. The concept and technology is definitely innovative, and has potential to be built as a great product.
Very interesting technology, this is definitely gonna be a game changer and they are right to say that this could be an essential part of the future laptops.
Is there any news whether they have found any company to work with @faizan-ashraf?
Light is a speedy source and if it's used with the signals they will really boost. Like for Wifo they used LEDs, which will enhance wifi multiple times. Other than the signals boost, this solution will be cost effective as LEDs are not that much costly. Hope this solution is implemented in the world soon.
Congratulations!
