Although VeChain is not that new, they recently launched their blockchain. That in itself is not very interesting, however what they intent to solve is super cool:
a Blockchain including all sort of sensors to play in the IoT space
Unlike many other blockchains, the company behind this one has some great partners including PwC (the worldwide leading accountancy firm).
They present some interesting use cases in fashion, agriculture, luxury and fashion, medical & health and automotive industries.
VeChain has accumulated extensive experience in an ever expanding list of industries including pharmaceuticals, liquor, automobile, luxury goods, retail, logistics, supply chain, food and cold storage and more.

VeChain is very, very promising project, maybe at time can hit the Eth, and reach the top2 or top1 position in cryptoverse.
If you stake it in the right wallet, generated the VeChain Thor token, the fuel of the blockchain. And this is the only one cons:
They call it "stake", instead of "God mode" :D
"God Mode" hahahaha... Large international brands will support to get the token know by a larger audience.

I think that blockchain might be a bit too slow for Internet Of Things. Scalability is more important than ever when we are talking about communication between machines, there is no place for any kind of lags or delays. Consequences of delays in autonomous vehicles blockchain might be very dangerous, causing even many collisions on the road. Thats why I think that IOTA with their DLT called Tangle is going to be the best solution for IoT.
