We all know 3D printing is around for a decade. Mostly it has been used for hobies or projects.

I remember seeing it for the first time 5 years ago at my university workshop. It was for plastic and I wondered if it can be used for metals. Well I recently learned that Metal X can do that.

It is created by Markforged which is a small startup in Boston that started in 2017 and now Metal X is the first metal 3D printer that costs under 100k dolars. It saves more than %90 percent of cost to produce.

You may wonder what will I do with a Metal 3D Printer but one of my friend with a small car renovation workshop considering buying it and saying in 2 years it will turn into profit. With this products you can start your own business or turn your business to less cost production center.

    1. It is less expensive compared to the alternative metal additive manufacturing technologies
    2. It has a cloud-based printer management software that guides you through the printing process
    3. It has an automatic material tracking that helps you detect the right material for your prints
    4. It has a built in touchscreen feature that allows you control your printing with ease
    5. It can print on variety of metals including aluminium

    Cons:

    1. Requires an expert to operate
    2. One must learn about the software to be able to use it perfectly
