What is Steem Engine?
Steem Engine is a smart contracts side-chain platform for the Steem blockchain. This means that it can execute custom smart contracts based on data published to the Steem blockchain. This allows us to do things that are not currently supported by the Steem blockchain, such as creating custom tokens, or literally anything else achievable with a smart contract.
ENG will be the native coin of the platform which will be needed to create your own tokens and in the future it will be used to publish and execute smart contracts. Right now 1 ENG is worth 1 Steem.
They are also creating an internal DEX to trade any Steem Engine token against STEEM.
With SMT's keep getting postponed a group of fellow STEEMians took the initiative themselves on creating this great project. I believe this is a necessity to expand the Steem ecosystem.

This is really interesting and what I get to know from the website is that it does not require coding. One can create his own new custom token through a smart contract. So it is absolutely easy and does not require a developer's skill. However if someone is a developer then he can explore more from this.
For mass adoption and lowering the entry level for individual and enterprises steem-engine could play a vital role. I think I should dig more in to it to explore further. This hunt should rank to the top. Sharing it in my twitter handle.

It's completely insane for the person who is interested in to create own token on Steem Blockchain but lots of patience, money, and time required. Steemhunt is a great example here. There are many others.

Im not sure, im just glad someone is working on bringing something to the table. I hope they succeed for the best of the ecosystem. SMT’s keep getting postponed.
For me it makes no difference which of the two is successful as long as we have these capabilities on the Steem blockchain. To create our own version of erc20 tokens and smart contract capabilities as well as a dex. These tools will take Steem to a whole new level. Im personally excited about it all.

Wow.. That's cool! I'm thinking about to create some smart contract using steem engine for my incubator. Hope it will become true.
This is a great platform for all steem user.This is another way how to get tokens and which is more better to trust and easy.We need more to get and develop for all steemain as like this platform.This is a great and easy to use,I think.So I like so much to use and to visit the website for more knowledges.Your post is one of the best on steemhunt.

This great is this similar to the SMT we are waiting from stinc, was going through the FAQs to understand all about the project, trying to see how no-techie like me can create a token...
Yeah anyone can create a token no coding required. Makes it easier for adoption.
This is amazing. I have recently been exploring options for creating smart contracts on top of the Steem Blockchain. This one looks promising and probably addresses the exact purpose.
