PostgreSQL is a very popular and helpful database management software that support the major and almost all OPERATING SYSTEM such as UNIX(BSD, HP-UX, Mac OS X etc.), LINUX and WINDOWS.
PostgreSQL is ACID compliant, where ACID means:

- Consistency
- Isolation and
- Durability
