Lantern is an open source project in collaboration with Android Things team for Google that explores the various possibilities of real-world projections between surfaces and content.
It allows projecting environment information and user interface into everyday objects.
Basically you can project anything you can imagine on any surface or object.
Must say that I am fascinated with this project and with the possibility of being able to create my own project using the kit list and all detailed instructions that are freely available to anyone who wants to build yours.

Do it yourself

The KIT features an Ikea Tertial lamp combined with a 3D printed housing and off-the-shelf components: Raspberry Pi, laser projector, an accelerometer and some cables.
