How Steemhost can help with charity

in #steemhost6 years ago

I came across this post Venezuela needs your vote guys! posted by @karinxxl. In it she describes conditions of which I was aware of ... which explains why I have been following some Spanish people (from Venezuela) when I can barely speak English.

In the past I have described a solution for this using other coins mainly because there wasn't a mechanism to support this in the steem environment. There is a problem with giving money or shoes it solves the immediate problem but isn't a long term solution to the problem. In the past I used to donate goats, and beehives, and school books with the understanding that goats have kids, bees make honey and more than one person can read a book.

While my original solution required setting up community stores with a sponsorship by an external government to help with construction and to handle diplomatic issues, it might be interesting if the steem community can come up with the solution first.

I have roughly 2000 sp currently. This means an earning of roughly $0.16 per post. A single person requires over 10,000 to earn $1.00. There is a really good program @steembasicincome which is delegates donations to users. While it is good and will be an excellent long term solution, it relies upon the charity of people already in the steem environment.

What we need to do is engage users outside of the steem environment. What product can you sell to businesses which costs very little ... people's eyes.

I just visited Steem Basic Income on its steemhost site. As you can see, a view is worth 0.01 and a click is worth the same ... in steem power delegation. Who received this amount. This was rewarded to both the visitor as well as @steembasicincome. You didn't need to upvote his content (although I encourage you to do so). Just by visiting this page both he and I have been rewarded.

You might ask how does this benefits children requiring shoes. Youtube ads cost a minimum of $10 per 100 views. Facebook charges $0.25 per click. How much does a visitor to either of those sites get paid? There is an advertisement on https://steemhost.com/@dollarvigilante that has a click worth $0.20 per click

How many people are going to chase after that advertisement knowing that a simple click increases their steem power delegation by that amount. I know for a fact there are only about 8 clicks left. How many business would like to have advertising which brought people inside their door?
