#STEEMGIGS: (TIL(Today I Learned)) — Daily Devotion - Practice Obedience to the Lord

in #steemgigs6 years ago

This time we will go back to the history of when Abram was called by the Lord. For the full context of the story you can read Genesis 12:1-9

I just picked the 4th verse as the key verse for me and later on I will be sharing it why.

An expensive car and extremely fast car was shown in a car show before. To test how fast it is we need someone who can drive really well on that. Imagine if we will just pick-out someone from somewhere no driving experience, no idea how a car would work etc. Then he was chosen to drive that car what do you think will happen?

I think that the car might not start, it may go on a straight line at full throttle or worst comes worst, it will bump somewhere and then we will have a crash on that place.

Now, if we will relay that to our lives if you have something so splendid and awesome but you didn't allow God to guide you in using those gifts, you could be somehow useless. There may be some empty void in your heart saying that there is something missing.

God gives this peaceful gift to a handful of people, to allow them to realize their true nature, focusing on what filthy beliefs they have been warming in their minds and nurture them for a higher potential because you are required to serve for something better in near future of which you are unaware at the moment. The destination of your search is God. - Ajmat Sheikh

You might even end up ruining yourself in the long run without you realizing it.

God himself if the Ultimate Driver in our lives, when I say that God himself doesn't want to be in the backseat of the car (Your life) listening to mp3 songs or playing candy crush. He doesn't want us to take him as a co-driver that if we are sleepy during long rides we will just switch place with him. He wants to drive our lives not a spare one but the main driver NO ONE aside from him.

Okay God yah kinda selfish you know? It's my life why are you going to take control of it?

Because he is God! And everything in this world is rightfully His (And that includes me huh). Aside from that God is an amazing God and he can do remarkable things in your life.

Going back to the verses from the Bible mentioned above. What could have happened if Abram(Abraham) didn't follow the order that God gave him and he set out on his own? I myself do not know the answer but one thing I am sure of as Abram completely obeyed God's instruction to him he experienced the blessing of the Lord and the rewards are far greater than he can imagine. His life testimony still touches the lives of people all across the globe as of this date.

God is desiring the same thing as He did to Abraham to happen to us. When we begin to have a relationship with him, he is calling us out. Most of the times he calls us asking us to leave our comfort zone and set out on a journey filled with amazing stuff ahead.

The journey to obeying him would be really tough as we need to cast aside everything, the old thinking, attitudes, the sins everything. Then in return, the blessings that he will be pouring out to you will be far greater than you have imagined.

When we allow him to be our Ultimate Driver not only he promises us a great journey but most importantly a place to stay for eternity in heaven. We just need to do our part. Let Go and Let God do his thing in our lives.
