#STEEMGIGS: How To: (DIY) FLOATING SELFIE STICK / BOBBER FOR ACTION CAMERAS
Bobber is used especially when swimming as its main feature is it will float whenever you lost grip at it. But it is very small that we need to compress in order to take a groupfie. So, to take a better selfie photo or video, I created my own version of bobber. A longer version of bobber.
Pros:
- A better selfie photo/video with a wider background scope.
- floating selfie stick. You will not worry to lose grip when swimming.
Cons:
- It is Bulky since it is longer
So let's go ahead and start making our DIY floating selfie stick. Gather the needed materials and follow the very easy and precise guide below.
MATERIALS NEEDED!
→ Used or new electrical PVC pipe→ 1pc GoPro Mount Extender
→ Stick Glue
→ Glue Gun
→ Soft drinks cap
→ Hand grip (optional)
→ spray paint (optional)
STEP BY STEP PROCESS!
STEP 1
Prepare your PVC Pipe and measure the length of the selfie stick on your own preference. Then cut it using any saw you have. My measurement is 18 inches.
STEP 2
Get your glue gun and let it heat up then gather your already cut PVC pipe, extra stick glue and Mount extender. When your glue is already melting, pour a good amount of melted glue inside the bottom of the pipe. Refer (image 2.1)
*Mount extender is an accessory that usually comes free with almost every action cameras available on the market. Just look at your box.
STEP 3
Grab your mount extender and put it inside the PVC Pipe where you poured the melted glue. Then let it dry. Refer (images 3.1 and 3.2)

After letting it dry, pour additional glue around the mount extender. We have to make sure that it will be sturdy enough to hold the camera and also we have to make sure that there will be no holes left for an airflow. Refer (image 3.3 and 3.4)

STEP 4
In this step, we will be needing the soft drinks cap to cover the other side of the pipe. We need to seal it properly using the cap and glue so that the air will not let loose. Trapped air inside the pipe makes our selfie stick float in the water.
Follow (images 4.1 to 4.3) below for proper sealing.
put glue over the edge of the pipe.

then cover it with the cap and press it hard to ensure proper sealing.

next, pour additional glue around the edge of the cap for added sealing.

Then that's it!
You can make it more presentable by painting it any color of spray paint you like. As for me, what I did was to roll over an electrical tape from end to end. (I'm still on the process of doing it at this point of posting)
THE FINISHED PRODUCT!
Ladies and gentlemen, here's my DIY floating selfie stick / bobber I made out of the scrap material I found in the trash.
sometimes, you can make amazing things out of your garbage. So, if there are any materials that you think are still worth a keep, you should probably keep them as it will surely be useful for your future projects.
P.S
This selfie stick is what I have been using whenever I go outing or hiking. I just dismantle it and re-make it so that I can document and share the step by step process through photos.
I HOPE YOU FIND THIS TUTORIAL HELPFUL!

This was amazing and really informative! Sir @dynamicrypto is on his way to the Philippines. I think he is just north of manila...
It's nice to know that sir. welcome to Philippines @dynamicrypto too bad I am 2 hours away from Manila because I live in Davao City. hehehehe
but why not use steemgigs.org? it will appear on steemit, make curation easier for me, and be stored and searchable on the website.
Sir terry @surpasinggoogle, I tried logging in earlier on steemgigs but it shows an error on steemconnect so i decided to just post it here for a meanwhile and use the tag steemgigs. i'm so sorry sir.
