YARN BOMBING
Hello Steemians,
Yarn Bombing - is a type of graffiti or street art that employs colourful displays of knitted or crocheted yarn or fiber. It is also called Yarn Storming. (Wikipedia)
As for me, it is a crochet group activity that install crocheted items made by each team and wrap around trees and benches in public places like we did last April 24, Tuesday noon under the scorching sun, thankful it was windy, so less sweat!
Before installation, posing posing first...
Cebu Crochet Group led by Sarah Palmares was commissioned by The Outlet at Pueblo Verde, Tamiya, Lapu-Lapu City, by Aboitiz Land Inc. to yarn bomb the 3 trees with in The Fork.
Grateful to Geraldine Yu - my long time online friend in Ravelry since 2011 but still not meet her personally, for adding me to this all active young crochet artist of Cebu...I met Geraldine's niece instead, Bernadette Yu, at the installation site.
There were 3 Teams assigned
Circle Team - where I and my Apo(granddaughter) Avril, belong
Granny Square Team
Chevron Team
And, some crocheted items were made by the women's of Liloan commissioned by Aboitiz...
