From me to Steemit

Source
I am not exactly doing this for the prize but I owe Steemit a "thank you" which is long overdue.
Before joining Steemit, I sure could think, I have my opinions on various things, I discussed it with friends but whenever I was required to write, I always got stuck. Back in high school, I sucked at writing essays. I could not write articles, I was hopeless when it came to writing articles and my letters were an eyesore. When it came to writing, I was totally hopeless, nothing to write home about.
Upon my introduction to Steemit, I came for the money. However, even when I joined, my writings were not good. I struggled to write a few lines and it took me hours to write two paragraphs. As expected, I was usually happy, if I got a few cents. However with time, my writings started getting better and with that, my earnings getting better. My writings and earnings might not be what they can actually be but they are much better than were when I started out.
A short while back, I was in dire need of a certain amount of money and I was thinking in the back of my mind, "Where will this money come from?" Steemit provided that money and helped me save face as my inability to find that money would have put me to shame. I think I forgot to say a "Thank you" to Steemit for that. Anyways, it's never too late to do that, so I say "Thank you Steemit"
On the first Saturday in September, along with three other Steemians, I would be visiting an orphanage ang giving to the kids there. All the funds going into these are generated from Steemit. I can finally be of some good to the society. I can help the less privileged in the society. My father died when I was ten years old and so at least I know what it is like to be without a father, If not both parents.
I hope that when everything gets better, I can serve as a source of inspiration to new Steemians, help them improve and give them all the help they will be needing to become much better on Steemit. I hope to help improve the quality of material being produced on Steemit and do my best to help reduce the rate of plagiarized articles, thereby reducing the amount of @cheetah's comments being found around Steemit.
A billion thanks to @elyaque for this incredible badge

I'm confused about why this is on the #steemgigs tag. There's no reference to a service or product being offered or requested.
it is for a contest, thank you.
Your writing right now is perfect. I have the same problem also cause of my dyslexia. I started using steemit to help me improve to that topic and as time passes it becomes easier for me to write stuff.
Also good luck on your visit at the orphanage, glad to see people helping out the community.
My friend @illuminatus you are damn right. Steemit has made us to discover the hidden writing skills we are all possess. Thanks to @ned who conveive this great idea.
