Very interesting project. While portals like upwork charge a commission, how does steemgigs find revenue ? With the chain transparent and with the escrow feature, Steem is exactly what is needed for a escrow-based service portal.
Hi bro, i value your comment. I have seen many of your thoughts on the blockchain and i have come to you through that means, even where you are technical.
Steemgigs is interesting. For starters, i am focused on the masses but i want to create value for human as opposed to money or a currency. where the @teardrops smt is eventually ready it will be used across 3 steem interfaces, steemgigs.org, ulogs.org and macrohard
This currency shouldn't be affected by bulls or bears cos we will create value for humans. the ecosystem will be built around a list of certified uloggers. Basically core focus is to build this greylist and the scarcity effect will be around humans instead of a currency. So where we have 1000000 users and some 50k certified uloggers, we are on track.
We will also create value around UI-perks which will be earnable. To enhance scarcity, these certified uloggers will have influence across these 3 steem interfaces and teardrops token across all three. this means, certified uloggers can appear on all our interfaces etc
In truth, our model is build around actively create revenue for our users. this can translate into revenue for us.
If you contribute code to these projects, it will just be special. However, i know that you have many coding activities. The last project is macrohard, a fresh enterprise that involves coders. I am not a coder though but this gives me an out-of-the-box perspective when it comes to coding needs of the world. When macrohard begins to enter fruition, i will show you it.

Glanced through ulogs as well. In general, my opinion is that community building should be done by efforts like ulogs. That will help the blockchain developers to focus on their core work. Really appreciate the efforts here.
On SteemGigs : Its very valuable and in combination with efforts like utopian it can create immense value.
I appreciate the suggestion. I glanced through the tasks. They are mostly UI and front-end. From a programming PoV, I am more of a backend person with experience in C++ like languages. Something I do is plan and execute projects to avoid scenarios like https://steemit.com/utopian-io/@surpassinggoogle/task-request-kindly-help-us-restore-steemgigs-org-to-its-last-functional-state-additional-50-sbd-bounty (ie, plan for rainy day scenarios, ensure continuity, scalability etc.) Right now with "Gig" centric economy many a times expertise like mine is under challenge. There are lot of us with this 15 - 20 years experience segment and many a times people becomes "domain / industry specific" as opposed to experienced to programming.
Looked into it. Understood that its the storyline for the portal. I will keep an eye for the project and anything like servers side - security - scalability if arises will jump in.
