I WOULD TEACH YOU A LITTLE ON BUTTERFLIES?
Hi friends, today i would be sharing part of my research work with us.
Actually one of the things i love doing is researching and its quite alot of fun.
Today's research is on butterflies.
I know some of you love butterflies alot because of their beautiful colors.
Initially they were known as "flutter by".
They have four stages of development which include:
Egg>larva/caterpillar>Pupa>Adult
THIS IS HOW THE METAMORPHOSIS TAKES PLACE
The fertilized winged female lays it's eggs on the leaves of the food plant so that the larva can feed on it when it hatches.
The egg hatches into larva and hence the larva can start eating immediately, some of them do eat the shell of the egg as well.
As it feeds, it continues it's growth till it matures as a caterpillar.
Then it would isolate itself for pupation, some would descend from the plant and go to the soil or leave litters and pupate there while some would hang themselves under the leaves or branches using thread-like silk to attach themselves under the leaves and pupate there.
Thereafter most of them would form cocoons which is used to protect the Pupa, some cocoons are poisonous, the poison is to protect the Pupa from being eaten by other infect feeding animals while some cocoons have chemicals that may cause irritation to other animals.
The Pupa develops it's features such as eyes, wings and legs.
Once the Pupa turns into an adult, it bursts open the cocoon to come out, some wear off the skin in order to emerge while some may not be able to come out due to the fact that they were not able to exert enough force to break out of the cocoon.
This is all about the metamorphosis of that lovely insect you see flying around and you are busy admiring it's colors.
I will also teach you a real life lesson i got from this research.
If you understood my last paragraph on how the adult butterflies emerge, you would discover that not all of them could finally make it out.
Reason being that they couldn't exert the same force as their mates.
Most of us are given equal opportunities with others but then are you able to strive hard and not just to relax and envy others?
Some of us are not where we are supposed to be today simply because we haven't gone an extra mile.
Do you just exert a little force and you are like those butterflies who say no! I don't think I can make it.
Know this today, keep pushing, keeping working harder till you get there!
YOU ARE DESTINED FOR GREATNESS, THE WORLD AWAITS YOUR STORY!

I love you all!
Exceptionally nice photography @cherylsonty
Don't forget that some of the Caterpillar's can have a nasty sting.I was trimming a bush and grabbed one and it lit me up, like fire stinging and burning. I watch for them now.Great post well written.
Helo dear, @kandywriter what you said is true in a way in the sense that they don't actually sting.
What happens is that some of them have SPINES which contain toxic chemicals.
This chemicals causes irritation to the human body, which is a way they use to chase predators.
