You know I think I have heard of it. We have this thing at children's parties here where you have sprinkles on white buttered bread. They are rainbow coloured and it's called fairy bread. We also have a chocolate version which I think is pretty much what you are talking about but I have never tried it. I bet the Dutch version is a lot better though lol
Don't know if our version is better, but it sounds the same indeed. We have different kind of tastes, the rainbow coloured indeed, and milk, white and (extra) pure chocolate and anise.
We use them on toppings indeed for icecream and cakes. But also for lunch and breakfast on our sandwiches or when a baby is born we use blue/pink sprinkles on a rusk. And a real treat is to combine the chocolate version with peanutbutter.
It a dutch treat, little pieces of chocolate really crispy. The Guys had white and milk chocolate mix
Mmmmmmmm
