Airbnb Workshop at CoSpace (German Article)
Dear steamians,

the last days where really intensiv. @jnmarteau and me organised the #globalschool workshops here at #HugInnVienna. We cooperated in content edition, chated with a bunch of other steemians on discord, in facebook groups and steemchat as well as we upvoted, followed and replied on posts. Without investing time it makes no sense to work on a project together. Meetings and meetups are really important to align the team and define a roadmap. That's why we had to meet also with @nicoletta on Monday to involve the community in the planning on the next #steemit-austria meetup on Sunday.

#globalschool session at #HugInnVienna

Thanks to the new post of @inquiringtimes I had the occasion to get a glimpse of what happened at the last @steemfest. If you are interested in the report and you want to see the talks, just look on my blog wall. I had to resteem the post, because it was really inspiring to read the text, find the speakers and watch the videos! 😃

@Ned, one of the founders of the platform hold the keynote. He showed why #steemit will be huge, why we are ahead in comparison to other blockchain-based platforms and why it will grow continuously.

The biggest reason is you! The community makes the difference.

On no other blockchain-based platform the users are so engaged in writing post and comments. Another strength is the variety of open source tools and apps which are developed behind the scenes to improve the user experience. Some of them are already in use like @dtube, where you can upload videos. It seems there is the right spirit. The platform is build by the users for the users. This is really special.

To stay ahead he mentioned the importance of the next steps. To go out, spread the word, network, organise meetups and contribute to a sustainable development of the community growth.

This is the point where we come in and want to support you! The last years we built up an international network which can help and contribute. For the next #steemit-austria workshops you will have the option to organise events at CoSpace, a known co-working space in Vienna. After organising two Airbnb workshops, I worked there already as Community Manager together with @jnmarteau, the Chief Innovation Officer (CIO). The location is perfect for the next steps of the Viennese community, because its bigger, there are a lot of event formats possible and here the #cryptolovers meet every month to talk about #cryptocurrencies. I guess this is a target group. 😉

I think it is really important that we find these transition hubs in every city, make new contacts with entrepreneurs, investors as well as other creatives and introduce the platform to new users. When we make this step together we will stay ahead and have the basis to further involve people and professionalize the community structures together.

The enthusiasm and growth of the community reminds me a litte bit of the time when I was really involved in the organisation of the Airbnb hosts, here in Vienna. We came far and we realised a lot. From some hundred hosts we made it up to 9000 this year. But on the way we got stuck because of the Top-down coordination of the company.

This was the point where I left the team of volunteers. It makes no sense to work for free and wait for orders. If you are free in building up what you believe in and you get the support everything is fine! But as soon as there are some power issues and you cannot do what you want to do for the community the cause is missing its core.

I hope that this time its different. We will do our best to contribute to the success of the platform!
