I don't generally do shades.
You can buy cheap and cheerful ones here for next to nothing.
If you're not just living a night life, you really want to get some -it's not too bad in bangkok, but once you leave the smog, squinting all day tires your eyes out.
(and bleaching your retina is unadvisable, apparently)
