Part Two - Choices

After reading @anomadsoul’s post here, I just remembered that the whole “Road to SteemFest” initiative it is supposed to be a freewrite, and thus I realized that I am a complete moron because, even if I knew about this rule when I made my first post from the series, I wasn’t consciously aware of it, and I edited the article afterwards.

But, in my defense, I will say that I believe strongly in habits and routines, and to be honest, I built for myself a writing routine that I follow unconsciously each time. It goes like this, and you might be surprise by the precision and “OCD” I have for each article. First of all, I open a fresh word document, I set the font size to 16 and I center my title. Next, I get a new line, I align it to the left, and I start writing with a font of 14.

After I’m done writing, I put spaces between each paragraph as I go along fixing my mistakes, and I paste my article in Grammarly to check it for typos and other writing mistakes. Then, I open my article in the Steemit editor, and I start to format it from a visual standpoint. After it’s done, I go through it once more to make sure I like it, and then I open it again in Grammarly to check it for the last time. All these, while saving my progress every couple of minutes. And I’m doing it for every single article; after a while it becomes a habit you perform brainlessly.

That is my defense, pretty in-depth, and I would probably cut at least half of it normally but, because this is a freewrite, I’ll keep it like this and you’ll have to deal with it.

Back to the main point of this article, Choices! Goddamn choices! You know, those things you hate doing but there’s no way around them, and you can only hope that you will not end up disappointed in the end. Yeah, choices. Gotta love them.

I have to say that, when it comes to attending SteemFest, I went from full certainty to full uncertainty over the last couple of months due to a lot of things. One of them was the market crashing since all of us and our finances got hit by it pretty strongly. In January, of course, everybody was attending but, now, not so many. And, that is totally understandable considering the bloody state of the situation.

But, some of that uncertainty has cleared away, not only because I really wanna meet all the Steemians that have influenced my life over the past year and so but, also because I am, hopefully, going as part of something bigger. Nothing more I can say right now.

Hmmm, other choices? Yeah, I’m still not sure what I’m going to travel with to Poland. I live in Romania, that’s only 500km away from Krakow so, ideally, I could go by car but, I don’t drive. If anybody’s going by car to Krakow, through Romania, make sure to hit me up.

Planes are not worth it since the schedule is hectic, I would have to go to another city from Romania to find a decent flight, and the price is way too big for such a small distance. I’m not going to pay 200 euros round trip for $50 worth of fuel.

So, the last option would be taking a train, or a bus, and I do think this is the best one. Even if, there are no direct trains from here to Krakow so, I would have to go through Hungary, take different trains, and have an overall trip of 10-14 hours for what it would normally be only 5. Yeah, it sounds like a deal for me, especially at 50 euros!

Man, Rolling Stones is really the best! You have to listen to “Sympathy for the Devil” the live version, it’s a classic.

I think that other choices would be the clothes, right? Gotta look fancy, ay? No, but for real, it’s Poland in November, don’t expect it to be too hot. My luck that I live in Romania and the weather is similar. Make sure to bring a pea coat, not those bullshit ugly coats; you’ll thank me later.

I feel like I’m all over the place but, you want to know what? It’s authentic content, directly from the factory, raw, without any edits. I try to keep my content as authentic as possible anyway but, the editing part is sometimes a slaughter. Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention that it’s past 1am over here and the only reason I’m probably writing this is because I’m “high on life” thanks to the view. Let me show you the view!

Aaand, this is what I mean by 1:25AM wilderness, I’ll tell you the whole story another time.

I have the feeling that I overdid this freewriting thing, haven’t I? Well, I have to compensate for the last “Road to SteemFest post” I suppose. I’m all over the place but, at least you have a better view into how my weird brain is working.

TL;DR, I am pretty confident I’m attending SteemFest, can’t wait to have a drink, or more, probably more with epic Steemians, and I’m taking a 14 hour train ride to save up some dollar bills. Also, I seem to dig this freewriting thing quite a lot; don’t get used to it.

Also, this post is written with the intent of funding at least a portion of the costs for SF which are surely not cheap, around two months of expenses in Romania so all the money will go towards that.

This is it. Go home now. The End!

You will make it, I'm confident! I wish I could but my life is way too up in the air right now. I am 100% sure I will make it to SF4 and I did not say that about SF2 or 3!

I'm going, that's sure, especially that I already have the place rented for November. Hopefully, the price will pump a bit, so it's more affordable to buy the ticket.

Oh, awesome to hear that!! See you at SF4, that's for sure. Good luck mate. :)

Good luck and at least, as you said, you are sort of close to the end point.

I considered it, but it's just too close to my already set travel plans, which is too bad, maybe steemfest 4?

Thank you. :)

If you can attend this year, then I urge you to do so. This edition is just perfect since it's in Poland because everything is cheap in Poland, even the rents. Next year it might be in a more expensive city, who knows, maybe even on another continent. See you there if you decide to attend.

Sounds like a real road-trip guyfawkes4-20, well more like a rail-trip. Whatever, a real trip man ;-)

Man, Rolling Stones is really the best! You have to listen to “Sympathy for the Devil” the live version, it’s a classic.

I love a bit of the stones and loads of 60's music in general, Hendrix, the Doors. If I make it to steemfest 3, maybe find a bar with that type of jukebox :-)

Indeed! I just looked at more prices yesterday; I think I found the perfect solution. I'm probably going to take a bus to Budapest, and then another bus from there to Krakow, all for $25 in around 14-15 hours, sounds like a perfect deal to me.

You have good taste, man. I like Hendrix as well; I would've loved attending Woodstock, too bad I wasn't alive back then. We need to get some epic music for the parties for sure. :))
