It's clear
Life isn't always easy and that is what Jim experienced at the moment. He sat in the dark and was forgotten. He had given up on trying to remember who he was and breaking his brains over how he ended up in a place where count Dracula might survive but most likely couldn't escape either.
As time passed by it became clear to him no one really missed him and there was not a single person that would come to his aid. He was surrounded by silence and dark and his stomach and intestines were the only ones who tried to make something clear to him. The end was near. He played the recorder for the last time as he laid down on the cold floor and listened to the voices. His and the lady's, the lady he called Mrs. Gordon. She knew him, could take him home but she wasn't there. It was just him and the recorder that recorded something that didn't make sense to him but might to someone one day. Would someone ever find him, recognize him or figure it all out? He pushed the recorder deep into the pocket of his jeans and closed his eyes.
"You never know", he thought.
These were his last thoughts before he closed his eyes and gave up searching for a way out. The man who grieved two decades about the loss of a little girl faced the end of his life in the same way. Alone, in the dark but instead of a child's boot a recorder with an empty battery kept him company.
