Spring! Today it is the turn of the lotus flower, also known as the water lily (Nelumbo nucifera) as a scientific name, it is the representative flower of the countries of India and Egypt.


It is an aquatic herbaceous plant, its leaves are characterized by having the quality of floating, which can reach 60 centimeters in diameter, unlike its flowers, which can reach 20 centimeters.


The color of its flowers is usually pink, although it can also be white, shaded white with green, white with pink, white and blue, its petals are usually concave.


These flowers have an oriental symbolism that I do not know and therefore I will not mention it in this publication.


My experience with the lotus flower, on one occasion I met a lady who told me that in her house she had a tub where she grew a lotus plant, to the point of seeing it bloom, it seemed to me that the lady was joking, until her daughter shortly after he made the same comment. LOL.


Thank God I have had the opportunity to personally appreciate these flowers, in the metropolitan area of ​​Caracas-Venezuela, specifically in the Parque Francico de Miranda, there are artificial lagoons where these plants are found.

¡Primavera! Hoy le toca el turno a la flor de loto, también conocida como lirio de agua (Nelumbo nucifera) como nombre científico, es la flor representativa de los países de India y Egipto.


Es una planta herbácea acuática, sus hojas se caracterizan por tener la cualidad de flotar, que puede alcanzar los 60 centímetros de diámetro, a diferencia de sus flores, que pueden alcanzar los 20 centímetros.


El color de sus flores suele ser rosa, aunque también puede verse blanco, matizado de blanco con verde, blanco con rosa, blanco y azul, sus pétalos suelen ser cóncavos.


Estas flores tienen un simbolismo oriental que desconozco y por ello no lo mencionaré en esta publicación.


Mi experiencia con la flor de loto, en una ocasión conocí a una señora que me comentó que en su casa tenía una tina donde cultivaba una planta de loto, al punto de verla florecer, me pareció que la señora estaba bromeando , hasta que su hija poco después hizo el mismo comentario. Jajaja.


Gracias a Dios he tenido la oportunidad de apreciar personalmente estas flores, en el área metropolitana de Caracas-Venezuela, específicamente en el Parque Francico de Miranda, existen lagunas artificiales donde se encuentran estas plantas.
