The destination

Yesterday I wrote about my journey. Today it is all about the destination. As i continued to recollect, I remembered why we took this trip. It was not for the place I was travelling to (Because I have been here more times than I can count). It wasn't about the company I was travelling with (I have gone on so many trips with them). It was all about taking my new car out! It was the first vehicle I had bought on my own and I just wanted to see how it felt. I was not disappointed by the least. One for the memory books I suppose?

After we passed through the dry region of Hassan, the cool and pleasant Chikmagalur was a such a sight to behold. Since it was January, one of the coldest months in the country, Chikmagalur being a hill station proved to be the best choice. I feel like I know the tourist places here in the back of my head. But this time we decided to go to some of the cliched places. We
were so caught up in visiting the un-explored places that we almost forgot the beauty of some of the more-popular ones. I mean, they are popular for a reason right! So, it was time to trek to the highest peak in Karnataka - Mullayanagiri. Leaving a few pictures from this peak.

I was disappointed to not make it in time to see the mist and the thick fog that usually exists here. But the silver lining - I got pictures from the top for the first time ever! Post this we went to a nearby waterfall. Dodged a few leeches on the way and headed back to the farm house to crash. The next morning was the highlight of Chikamagalur. As the farmhouse was in the middle of a thick coffee plantation, I was woken up by the sound of the birds and thick coffee flavour. As i wandered around the farmhouse, I saw that they actually prepare the coffee beans themselves. A long process involved which I was very eager to learn. I won't go into the details of it since that requires a separate blog of its own. Here's a few pictures from the farmhouse
