Introduction

Jungle justice can simply be defined as when the public decides to take law into its hand, instead of handling a criminal to the law for taking proper action to be taken. The mob/public resort to their own method of handling criminals like beating them to a point of death, stripping them naked, dragging them into the gutter, battering them with cutlass and finally killing them in a most painful way (putting tyres around their neck,with petrol and buring them alive).

Jungle justice is a common practice in some countries, people dont even see the need of taking offenders to police station again.
Before this barbaric act was carried out by some irresponsible youths, but nowadays even the adults are not left out, as they fully encourage the youths in engage in this awful act.

Some youths wont even listen to what the offenders has to say, they are only interested in getting tyres and buring the person alive to death, sometimes the accusations might be false. There was a story of a young man who was fasely accused of stealing some amount of money from a woman and the same amount of money was given to him by his wife to pay for goods she bought without even hearing the young man explanation or side of the story, he was beaten to death, rendering the young woman who has just given birth few days ago a widow.

Before jungle justice were mainly done to adults, but as time goes on, even children are not even spared as they are beaten and massacred at the slightest oppourtunity.
Policemen and the law have tried all possible best to put an end to jungle justice, but people are not willing to stop, not even if the jungle justice is done to the offender alone but even to the relatives, family of the offender, angry mob after killing the offender will go to the offender's house,and burnt both the house and everything iniside the house.

While this act is taking place,crowd gathered there are busy taking photos instead of alerting the police,this act of jungle justice should be curbed.

WHY PEOPLE ENGAGE IN JUNGLE JUSTICE

At times, not just only in Nigeria, when a crime is commited and the criminal is handed over to the police, such case might be buried, thereby making the criminal go unpunished. Infact this act of corrupition has lead to many criminals going unpunished.

So in order to prevent such criminals from escaping justice, people take to jungle justice,should jungle justice be the solution?
Even children are not excempted from this act

WHY JUNGLE JUSTICE?

When you kill a criminal, you are commiting muder, then you are not better than the criminal apprehended.

Jungle justice is no solution at all, let the law take it course, the right of a civiian is to report a criminal not to take action. Nobody gave civilians the right to kill.

Sometimes these accusations might even be false or not just enough to burn the person alive,thereby subjecting an innocent person to pain and turture.

Killing these criminals at times wont even give the policemen oppourtunity to interogate the criminals which can lead to arrest of other criminals,even the law dont even burn people alive,no matter what the crime might be,taking them to the police is just the best solution,the annonying thing is some people might not be there when the crimal was arrested or when the argument started, but will be the first to pick up stone,pls jungle justice is not the solution at all,some criminals just need to be talked to or taken to a rehab hom,and its only a matter of time before they change, lets stop taking law into our mind.

Well for me, I say NO to jungle justice. What is your take on this?
