Some Thoughts
on the SteemDreem
.....................................................................................................................................................................
That's what it might have looked like new
When I got it it was all rotted out and waterlogged on the inside. The engines were gone and swarms of wasps and other critters had taken residence inside.
I cleaned it all out. Now all that remains is a fiberglass shell.
I can rebuild it. I intend to.
But I change my mind about what I want to do...about ten times a day.
NOW
I haz another idea.
Why do like everyone else does?
Why not be unique?
I'm thinking pilot house FORWARD...
and I rill mean forward...
like a cabover truck..
a bus.
I drove one exactly like this for a few hundred thousand miles.
The driver sat OVER and infront of the steer axel. That's why it was called
A BUS.
suppose..
just suppose.
I did something similar to the
STEEMDREEM?
what is the size of the boat ? L, W
24 ft long
8 ft wide.
have a trailer too.
can pull it with my truck
perfect , do you plan to live full time on the boat once finished or ..?
probably not.
the wife would not agree.
yeah, they always have to ruin fun
I think it's pretty cool, this kind of writing style is..
thank yew.
More weather proofing, but also more weight at the top, which can make it tippsy.
au contraire...
almost all of the weight will be below waterline.
(box keel full of batteries and water tank)
the cockpit (pilot house) has to go somewhere.
the other options are in the rear
(can't see so well because of the cabin)
or on TOP of the cabin
(flying bridge as shown)
so
put it on the front deck...
like a cab-over truck
lower to the water than any other options
that I've thought of .
Cute little boat. That looks like a satisfying project.
I'm afraid I have no opinion on the layout, except that putting the pilot house forward might give you more room for a nice writing hang-out are in the back?
oh yeah
it WILL have a complete computer system inside.
(and bed, shower and kitchen)
Whatever floats your boat of dreams, nothing to say you can't do them both.
at the moment I only have ONE hull.
LOL buses all around you that you could deck out!
