My Proposals to Steemit Development Incentive Program

Steemit are thrilled to declare that the Development Incentive Program has begun. Community-led development initiatives on steemit.com will get an annual budget of $500,000 worth of STEEM tokens. The initiative aims to support the Steem community's decentralization and prosperity, encourage Steem's steady growth, and boost the number of excellent Steem witnesses. link

You guys can submit until October 15. With that in mind here are some of my key points or suggestions sorted out per category.

🚀USER INTERFACE?

• PROFILE PICTURE

There have been some adjustments to the user interface that I would want to see. The first is the shortcut for changing the profile or display photo, which I show in the graphics below. This is to avoid the inconvenience of navigating to settings. I know it may not seem like a major deal, but for new users to steemit, my idea appears logical. It will make steemit.com a little more user friendly.

• EDIT COVER PHOTO

I'd want to see some adjustments to the cover photo, similar to what I suggested for the profile picture shortcut. The first step is to modify or edit the cover photo, which will be placed in the lower right corner of the cover photo. Next, in order for users to fit their desired cover photographs, you must know the exact dimensions of your covers. It would be easier to use if we could also include crop, resize, and reposition options/functions. I mean, it appears to be some other massive social media platform out there, but since that's the current trend, perhaps we could just make some changes there to give it our own taste or steemit vibes.

• NEW ICONS OR ICONS INSTEAD OF WORDS?

Steemit also needs to revolutionize the interface with icons (should be steemit vibe as well) , I agree to what @michelangelo3 proposed we used too much of the green in here , the blue one seems to be more futuristic and have more appeal to it(tho it is just my own opinion). Also there should always be a notification before joining a new community or before leaving a community, like "Do you wish to continue to join/leave?" something like that.

• GIF PREVIEW ANIMATION SHOULD BE SHOWN?

Gif preview animation should be shown? why? because some animation gifs doesn't appeal the reader if it is not moving in the preview of a post. Still images doesn't capture its beauty tho i don't know how big the impact of it in terms of data size when browsing.

🚀COMMUNITY CURATIONS?

• PROBLEMS
  I believe one of steemit's current dilemmas is how to retain users, both new and old, on the platform. Many of my friends from various countries have quit or left Steemit for good. One issue is a lack of support or upvotes from whales, witnesses, or steemit in general. Many high-quality contributions and materials went unrecognized and unappreciated, particularly in the art section. Almost no pro artists or excellent enough artists have remained on Steemit, and almost no digital artworks have been trending for more than two years. I think one of the most i've heard or read is to "engage more, comment more" but new users or lower reputation users needs rigorous amount of time and effort to do that unless you are a full time steemit user doing nothing. I experienced that 5 years ago and it is not easy and super tiring.

• SOLUTION

1.) Add a function or option that will show the most reblogged posts/content. If not show in the preview the post how many times the post is reblogged, this will pique users attention that the content is interesting for most users.

2.) Add additional manpower or additional curators, coz' there are really a ton of contents almost got no upvotes(either it is user's fault or lack of curators). There are quality post with lot of engagements but didn't even reach a dollar worth.

Witnesses to Communities? or Communities to Witnesses?

I could be mistaken here, so please correct me if my observations are incorrect.
-PROBLEM
Why is it difficult to maintain a community even when there are many active members? There were excellent or outstanding communities that have now been disintegrated because there are no whales or witnesses to back them up. Many communities currently rely solely on booming support, which I believe is limited to only 4 or 5 upvotes each day per community. I mean, fantastic for the top three posts, but what happened to the other high-quality content that didn't reach the top? Isn't it nearly zero value?

• SOLUTION
  So, before becoming a community leader or a country representative, they should be endorsed to a witness who needed a backup community or members. Also, community leaders should be held accountable for endorsing a certain witness who will be voted on by the residents of that community, which I believe is a win-win situation for both parties.

A NEW COMMUNITY SIMILAR TO UTOPIAN BUT SOLELY FOR STEEMIT?

I think steemit needs a new community that will be helpful to the platform just like how utopian did before. I think the difference this time is that the contribution of graphics,music, visual arts, translation etc. is centered around the steemit community. An example is contribution of icons or logos, creating music or writing that helps promote the steemit. To further give you a lot of specific examples here some lists that could contribute to the growth of steemit.

• Logos of communities (to help in the branding)
• Graphics (either videos, animation or illustration that could also help in promoting steemit)
• Music ( you could compose lyrics or songs that you could share on social medias like tiktok or youtube that specifically promotes on signing up on steemit)
• Programming (games or apps)
• Inviting or talking to influencers
• Steemit Meetings
• Steemit Promotion Based Projects (an example is Charity events)
