House Sparrow Male
I have a love-hate relationship with this species.
They are not native here and wreak havoc on the native bird species. They thrive well close to human habitation and are prevalent in a great deal of cities in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Oceania, and Africa. They are generalists, which means they do well with a wide range of foods, in a wide range of circumstances. This makes them very good at adapting to wherever they find themselves. They threaten native birds by eating, nesting, and crowding out the resources that they need.
Ebird is an invaluable resource. It provides free access to sightings maps crowd sourced by bird enthusiasts around the world.

The map above is where ebird users have reported sightings of House Sparrows.
The map below is more aligned with their native territory.
House Sparrow Native Range
In any case, there is not a lot that can be done that would make a big enough impact. In the United States, falconers can hunt them freely because they are not a protected species. Same goes for European Starlings, and Rock Pigeons, though caution must always be used to avoid transferring avian diseases and pests to the falconer's bird.
You can help by never feeding these birds and cleaning up after yourself wherever you go. When you do feed ducks and other waterfowl, make sure to use cracked corn, cut grapes, lettuce (or other greens) instead of bread, which makes birds sick.

Want to have your post on the map too?
Seriously the most common bird where I live. There are some with yellow feathers around the face. Those just started to pop up over the last few years. I have a vlog tomorrow that should peak your interest. A peacock was wondering the neighborhood today lol.
Woohoo rogue peafowl! :) I'll definitely check it out.
Where are you located?
Burbank, California. Just outside of Los Angeles. Just curious, how do you know its a male? My daughter was showing a lady what gender her Parrot was the other day, it was kinda funny. I didn't remember to ask her.
Awesome. Do you like it there?
The males have the black on their face and a black bib. The size of the bib determines pecking order. Females have no black on their face and a distinctive light "eyebrow" stripe. Females can be hard to tell from other sparrow females and some juveniles, but it is usually a safe bet to say it is a House Sparrow female if there are also males around.
I like living in So Cal, traffic sucks but the weather is nice almost all year long.
Thanks for the heads up on the Sparrows, I did't get to the peacock upload. Maybe tomorrow! lol. Have a great night.
Yeah, we like it in Utah but wish we lived somewhere warm in the winter...
Okay, I thought I was missing something. Feel free to drop a comment link to me when you post it. :) Would love to see it! You have a great night as well.

I have to say I'm more of just a hater.
I really don't blame you. I think their ability to adapt is pretty impressive, and I know it isn't their fault. But it is hard not to get frustrated when I see them.
Thanks for the added information of our previous discussion. Will it help if I swear at every house sparrow I see? :-)) Love the info - keep it up.
Lol. If it makes you feel better then it might help. :)
You are welcome!
Awesome Work!
