Steem Commerce Roundup : news of businesses accepting payment in STEEM/SBD @ 20 January 2019
SteemCommerce is beginning to bubble to the surface again.
Some promising new developments to report.
Some established projects continuing to show good progress.
And a couple of one-offs that you can spend your hard earned STEEM on.
Here is a brief roundup of all things SteemCommerce happening since the last roundup two weeks ago.
Moving up my agenda is the plan to restart the directory of businesses that accept payment in STEEM.
We'll still need a few more businesses jumping on board with steem payments, but it's on its way...
Price-Breaker.com now accepts STEEM
@theycallmedan recently reported that the Price-Breaker.com website has now agreed to accept payment in STEEM.
The general online shopping site based in California stocks a wide range of products from Bitmain Antminers to ColdGear Infrared Tactical Leggings.
The company appears to ship worldwide and offers a cryptocurrency payment option via CoinPayments.Net.
Price-Breaker.com has recently added STEEM to the list of cryptocurrencies they now accept via CoinPayments.Net.
CoinPayments.Net is an established integrated payment gateway for cryptocurrencies.
If you know of any online retailers that might be interested in taking cryptocurrency payments (particularly STEEM!) it is worth pointing them towards CoinPayments.Net. I have not used it directly but I believe it works well and only charges a 0.5% fee.
CoinPayments.Net's Store Directory lists hundreds of businesses already taking cryptocurrency payments. If you spot any on there that don't have STEEM on their acceptance list, contact them and ask them to add it.
Steem Merchants project in Venezuela by @rutablockchain
The Steem Merchants project in Venezuela to get businesses to accept payment in STEEM or SBD is continuing to expand its reach.
The @rutablockchain project (founded by @enmy and @danielvehe) has this week signed up its first travel agent.
The i Trip travel agency in Caracas now takes payment in STEEM and SBD for airline tickets, hotel bookings , car rentals, cruises and travel insurance.
This might well be the first travel agency in the world that takes STEEM payments.
Anyone know of any others?
Look out for more businesses in Venezuela joining the project very soon.
In the meantime check out the project's Fundition campaign to gather funds for their operations...
Homesteaders Co-op
The Homesteaders Co-op ecommerce project founded @sagescrub is continuing to grow.
Eighteen vendors from all around the world are now selling over 140 products.
To help fund the continued development of the platform Homesteaders Co-op has now launched a Fundition project...
There is also a contest running to win 500 SP delegations, SteemMonster packs and SBI shares...
The Homesteaders Co-op site is based on the WordPress WooCommerce system using the revamped WooCommerce Steem payment plugin originally developed by @recrypto and now updated by @sagescrub.
The plugin is open source and is free to use by anyone with a WordPress / WooCommerce site...
T-Shirts for STEEM, and some little figures from GCHQ

@katharsisdrill has teamed up with @evilhippie to sell 3d-printed figurines of some of the characters through their @olde-steemshop store...
