Steemchurch: Jesus invites you to share his table

in #steemchurch7 years ago

The life that many have had to face, has been full of problems, defeats, fears; lives full of pain maybe because of tragedies, abandonment and maybe, you do not feel that you have had a life, but rather a repetition of the same thing every day, which are the same, the days, months and years go by, and nothing seems to change, everything is the same, sometimes worse.

But when a person decides to come to Christ, life changes, not because we can cause that change, but because having in our hearts the fullness of Christ, the presence of the Holy Spirit, things will be different.

Many when leaving our countries, it was with a fixed idea in our mind and heart, "we go in search of something better", of that economic prosperity, to change a life style that we did not like, some of us came to look for that Dream and Even after many years, it seems that he is still looking for something to fill the void within our being; we have not worn out, sacrificed many things and the prices paid, in many occasions they have been high, separated families, a lot of work, in short, each one has its own history.

But TODAY (say TODAY), God wants you to look for that Dream, but in Him, you look for the Truth, the Way, the Free, the Peace, the Joy, the Happiness, because Jesus, is the Son of God and in He, you will be able to find all that and even more, you will find THE FORGIVENESS OF THE SINS AND THE ETERNAL LIFE.

This is not about Positivism, it confesses with your mouth and believes, it's not about philosophical ideas, it's not about religion, it's not about human ideas, this is real, it's called Jesus, in your life, it's called a Father - Son relationship. God wants you to walk by his side, his promise in eternal, and was paid with his Blood on the cross of Calvary.

God knows who you have been, who you are, knows everything about each one of us, our most intimate thoughts, God knows from you EVERYTHING, repeat with me, God knows all about me, and yet he gave his Blood, gave his life, God loves me…

2 Samuel 9: 1-13 - David asked: "Is there anyone left of Saul's house whom I can favor for Jonathan's sake? 2 There was a servant of the house of Saul named Siba, whom they called to come before David. And the king asked him: - Are you Siba? "Yes, to serve you," he answered. 3 The king said to him, "Is there no one left of the house of Saul, that I may favor him with the mercy of God?" Siba answered the king: "There is still a son of Jonathan, crippled by the feet. 4 - Where is it? The king asked him then. Siba answered the king: He is in the house of Makir son of Amiel, in Lo-debar. 5 Then King David sent and brought him from the house of Machir the son of Ammiel from Lo-debar. 6 When Mephibosheth the son of Jonathan the son of Saul came before David, he fell on his face and bowed. David said to him, "Mephibosheth. Here is your servant, "he answered. 7 Then David said, "Do not be afraid, for I will have mercy on you for the love of Jonathan your father." I will give you back all the lands of your father Saul, and you will always eat at my table. 8 He bowed down and said, "Who is your servant, that you should look at a dead dog like me? 9 Then the king called Ziba, the servant of Saul, and said to him, All that was of Saul and all his house, I have given him to the son of your master. 10 You, then, shall till the fields, you and your sons and your servants, and store the fruits, so that your master's son may have bread to eat; but Mephibosheth, the son of your master, will always eat at my table. Siba, who had fifteen sons and twenty servants, 11 answered the king: According to all that my lord, the king, has sent to his servant, so will your servant. Mephibosheth, "said the king," will eat at my table, like one of the king's sons. 12 Mephibosheth had a little son named Micah. All those who lived in the house of Siba were servants of Mephibosheth. 13 But Mephibosheth, who was crippled on both his feet, lived in Jerusalem, because he always ate at the king's table.

When David was installed as king over Israel, the chosen people of God, there was a custom, in eastern dynasties, when taking power the king took two members of the dynasty, all relatives and exterminated them to avoid the possibility of a revolt or coup d'etat, as it is known in our days.

But in this story that we just read King David, instead of looking to kill the members of the previous royal family, he wants to look for them to benefit them; by when there was a PACT, which he was subject to comply with. This pact was made some time ago between the son of the ancient King Saul, Prince Jonatan and King David.

Jonatan son of King Saul, despite being the heir to be the next king after his father, recognized that God himself had removed that power from his father's house to give it to a humble shepherd of sheep, to his dear friend David, therefore Jonathan to recognize that the Hand of God was with David, did not take long to agree with the king. Jonatan wanted to be sure that David would keep his promise and make David swear.

FIRST COVENANT (Jonatan and David agreeing)

1 Samuel 20: 15-17- ... and never remove your mercy from my house. When Jehovah has eliminated David's enemies from the face of the earth one by one, do not let Jonathan's name be taken away from the house of David. 16 So Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David, saying, "Yahweh gives it up from the hands of David's enemies." 17 And Jonathan made David swear again, because he loved him, loved him as himself.

SECOND COVENANT (Jonatan and David agreeing)

1 Samuel 24: 20-22 - Now I know for certain that you are to reign, and that the kingdom of Israel will stand firm and stable in your hands.21 Now therefore, swear to me by Jehovah, that you will not destroy my seed after me, You will not erase my name from my father's house. 22 So David swore to Saul. Then Saul went to his house, while David and his men went up to the strong place.

So King David, remembering his word, his pact with the house (relatives) of Jonatan, seeks to make what he had promised come true, 2 Samuel 9 1 David asked: Has any of the house of Saul remained whom I can favor for the love of Jonathan?

King David asks Is there any? He is not asking Is there anyone qualified? or Is there someone worthy? In other words, it is an unconditional acceptance based on unconditional love. But his question is THERE IS ANYTHING, David was looking for even one who qualified to enforce the covenant, he wanted to make it happen. A pact that goes back a long way back, between his beloved friend, Jonatan and him. Although his friend was no longer there, he knew that he had given his word and would seek to fulfill it, instead of killing him according to the cultural traditions of the time.

If the answer of Siba to the king is analyzed, which I ask for someone; the answer should be simple: Yes Lord or No Lord, but instead Siba's response could be interpreted as a warning: "King David, you'd better think twice before doing it, because this guy is not going to look your court It does not square with the environment, with this throne room, with this beautiful new house in Jerusalem. This man has a physical impairment. "

But the reaction of King David is what is expected of every person who wants to give his grace, he had clear what was his priority, to fulfill a covenant. Immediately he asked. Where is? David does not ask: How bad is he? Is the problem a lot? Does it look very ugly? The king does not care how he got to that state, he did not care about his physical condition, the king just wanted to know where that person was.

This is how grace acts, of God over our lives;

• Grace is not punctilious
• Grace does not look for things done that deserve love.
• Grace works apart from the individual's response or abilities.
• Grace is one-sided.
Grace is God giving himself in total acceptance to someone who does not deserve it, who will never be able to earn it, who will never be able to pay for it, those are you and me.

Of the grace of God is that which the Holy Spirit wants to fill you today, wants to make us accepted before the Heavenly Father, through the precious Blood of his Son, Jesus, through the covenant on the Cross of Calvary, that covenant that everyone to recognize him and love him, accept him, have forgiveness of sins and eternal life; That grace is what God has for you Today.

To our Jesus, it does not matter if you are:

• Filled with sin, with his precious Blood, he can cleanse you,
• If you are weak and defeated, He will give you the strength of the buffalo,
• If you feel fearful, he calls you courageous and courageous man,
• You feel without gifts, he will fill you with his own
• You are not legal in this country, he gives you citizenship in heaven
• You do not have resources, He is the owner of the avocado and the gold, everything belongs to him

The only thing that matters to the father is you; not what you have or lack, because He created you, formed you, in His likeness, that's how the King loves you.

King David wanted to enforce the covenant, and he was looking for someone to make it come true, he asked where he was, he wanted him in his presence 4 - Where is he? The king asked him then. Siba answered the king: He is in the house of Makir son of Amiel, in Lo-debar. 5 Then King David sent and brought him from the house of Machir the son of Ammiel from Lo-debar.

But the man to whom the king wanted to give something was in Lo-debar, this term has a meaning: Hebrew means "no" and debar has its root in a word meaning "pasture or pasture", that descendant of Jonatan, which was sought by King David, was in a place where there is an unimaginable desolation; in a retired and inhospitable area of Palestine. He was there for a reason, every descendant of the previous dynasty had to remain hidden for the rest of his life, as explained above, there was against him the death penalty. But in this case the death penalty was not going to be fulfilled, but on the contrary, this man was wanted for a benefit of life, this man was wanted out of an inhospitable, desolate place, a different one, a much better one.

Just like this man, how many men are hiding in desolate lands, what was your life like before Christ?: You lived hidden, fearful, full of anguish, needing to feel peace, seeking happiness in material things, in the drugs, in the alcohol, in the illicit sex, you were in a place full of depression, of hatred, of ties, where did you live before knowing the true and only King Jesus Christ ?, you lived in DEBAR.

But that is a thing of the past, because today you live in the house of your Heavenly Father, today you live in victory, today you live under the wings of the almighty God, today you live safe, live confident, live full of his love, today your life is over the Rock of Salvation, no more depression, no more drugs, no more illicit sex, no more alcohol, no more sin.

God has all the power, to heal and to cleanse each of us, because you will no longer live in the land of the debar, you will live eternally and forever in the house of your Father, God.

Imagine for a moment the fright that this man received when he heard of the soldiers who came to his house saying "The king wants to see you". Perhaps Mephibosheth said "the end came to me", the King will judge me, I will die, he will have no mercy on me.

Have you ever thought that, God wants an encounter with you to humiliate you, to wallow you in the filth of the sins committed, it will be that our God rejoices to humiliate the men, it will be that inside the heart of our God, this will hurt you ?

If you have lived thinking that Jesus is angry with you because of your sins and faults, because of your weaknesses, today it is necessary for you to know more about Him, our God I love you and me, so much that I send His Son to dying for your and my sins, opened the door for Salvation and eternal life, to the Saint, everything fell on his Son, he carried on all burden, all sin, all filth, all sickness, so that through him, your and I present ourselves clean without blemish and without fear before the Throne of God, in John 3:16 - God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not be lost, but have eternal life.

Mefiboset when arriving in the presence of the King, possibly expecting the worst, he knew that he could die at that moment; but the opposite happened, WHY? Because this man was backed by a pre-established pact between two men, between two houses, that of Saul and that of David.

Possibly he did not know, because he would have presented himself to the king and tell the king that he knew the pact between King David and Jonathan, his father, who knew the love between them and claimed to make the word between they claimed that right. But, there is another possibility, he knew about the pact, but his fear of approaching, his fear of reprisals, if fear prevented him from doing this. But whatever it was that had not been presented previously, the pact had not been invalidated, it was as firm as the day it was made.

God has provided for you a covenant, a covenant signed by Him, an eternal covenant, firm and real, backed by His Own Blood, for the forgiveness of sins. Matthew 26: 26-27 While they were eating, Jesus took bread and blessed it. Then he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying: Take and eat; this is my body. 27 Then he took the cup, gave thanks, and offered it to them, saying: Drink from it all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

Can you imagine the love of God with you, you know? Claim for yourself that Covenant, you are a man under Covenant, no more fear, no more anguish, claim for your life the eternal covenant of God.

Verse 7 Then David added, Be not afraid, for truly I will have mercy on you for Jonathan your father's sake. I will return all the lands of your father Saul, and you will always eat at my table In this text King David gives four things to Mephibosheth, which only by the status or status of king could guarantee:

  1. Do not be afraid: I cover you, no one can touch you, I am your protector, I do not want to hurt you and I will not allow anyone to do it. In the same way, the King of kings gives us that guarantee, that privilege, that protection: Hebrews 4:16 - Let us, therefore, approach the throne of grace with confidence, to obtain mercy and find grace for the opportune help.

  2. I will have mercy: I will forget your faults, I will forget about your transgressions: Psalm 33: 5 - The earth is full of the Lord's mercy.

  3. I will give you back: God is your supporter, it depends: John 16:23 - Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you

  4. You will always eat at my table: Psalm 48:14 - For this God is our God forever and ever; He will guide us even beyond death.

If we look carefully at the first 3 points that the king grants to Mephibosheth:

1st Forgive his life,

2nd They had mercy

3era.Le filled with material things his life, were under a condition of David being the King, to be in that position had therefore the power or ability to give or offer to Mefiboset those 3 things.

But the 4th goes beyond his position as King, allowed him to have an intimate relationship with him; a personal relationship with David. Having Mefiboset part of the King's table, I could listen to him, he was protected by him, he ate what the king was served, he was in a position of honor, of familiarity, he was enjoying special moments near his friend, all because a Covenant made it possible, in the end the only thing Jonathan was looking for was not to take the lives of his offspring, but not only gave him that, but allowed him to have a friendship.

In the same way as King David, God wants:

• Have mercy on you
• Being your provider,
• Watch over you,
• Sustain yourself
• Forgive all your sins
• Use you in your Kingdom

But even God wants to give you MORE, God wants to have an intimate and personal relationship with you and He with you; talk with Him, converse with Him, be part of Him, God invites you to sit with Him at the table; a table dedicated to the most intimate family members, you will be able to enjoy their presence, you will be able to see them, it depends on you Mefiboset recognized his condition before the king, he knew that he was receiving the forgiveness of his life, that he was receiving land that no longer they belonged, he was receiving mercy, grace, forgiveness, 8 Leaning down he said: Who is your servant, so that you look at a dead dog like me?

And that was being placed before everyone in a position of honor forever. This action took him to a correct position in front of the ruler, he understood perfectly that what was delivered by King David was completely unmerited, he had done absolutely nothing to obtain it.

In the same way we must understand that we are guilty of sin before God and therefore our pay is death: Romans 3:23 - because all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

But in Jesus Christ we obtain forgiveness: Romans 3: 24-15 - being justified freely by his grace, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God placed as propitiation through faith in his blood, to manifest his righteousness , because of having overlooked, in his patience, past sins.

By understanding how Mefiboset did our condition as unclean, that only by the immense grace and precious Blood of the Lamb of God we obtain that precious forgiveness, the mercy of God has no limits, but King David not only spared his life as we saw it previously, if not even more, it would even allow him to sit in his presence, enter the heavenly palace, share with the King, Jesus is the KING ...

13 But Mephibosheth, who was crippled on both his feet, lived in Jerusalem, because he always ate at the king's table.

Imagine what Mephibosheth's life would be like in the following years, when he lived in the royal city, he entered freely, in the midst of his physical impediment to the palace when David sat at the table, ready to eat and the members of the family began to arrive. The family and their guests:

• Amnon, intelligent and witty, arrives first
• Joab, one of the guests - muscular, tall walking upright, a whole soldier.
• Absalon, so handsome, there's no imperfection in him
• Tamar, the beautiful and tender daughter of David
• Solomon studying in the library all day.

Finally they hear a sound of feet crawling: It's Mephiboset. He smiles and humbly joins the others, taking his place at the table as one of the king's sons. And the GRACE tablecloth covers his feet.

Likewise Jesus invites you to sit with Him at the table: REVELATION 3:20 - "Behold, I stand at the door and knock; If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him and he with me. "

Jesus wants to have dinner with you, wants to talk, talk about you and that you know him, there is Paul, David will be also, this Abraham, Israel, will be Elijah, Elisha, will be Job, there will be John the Baptist, heroes, brave, like Gideon, and God wants to see you there, it does not matter if you can not walk, no matter what your condition, God extends his mantle of mercy on you and wants to invite you to the dinner table:

DO YOU ACCEPT?

Sort:

Indeed, we are privileged to have an invitation to sit with Christ at his table. We are no longer
viewed as slaves but as sons of God and co-hiers with Christ!

The Lord Jesus never discriminate, he's arms are always open for us, no matter what we have done he has called us today to come sit with him on the table.

Interesting conclusion "Jesus wants to have dinner with you, wants to talk, talk about you and that you know him, there is Paul, David will be also, this Abraham, Israel, will be Elijah, Elisha, will be Job, there will be John the Baptist, heroes, brave, like Gideon, and God wants to see you there, it does not matter if you can not walk, no matter what your condition, God extends his mantle of mercy on you and wants to invite you to the dinner table"

When he deemed it fit for us to be part of his table, he calls us. He calls is to his table to resolve all that we've been going through. He blesses us and from that moment on, we seek no more.

I never in anyway think that someone who says "come join me on the table" means bad for you he definiatelly mean well for you.
Christ has always prepare our table for us all we need to do is to take a step and join him for a brighter future

Steady God invites us shear to his banquet, to partake in his communion and to do that we have to be cleansed we have to be on clean robe,we are indeed privileged to be among those who God needs to eat and shear bread with only if we can make our self available.

"To the table" has a strong connotation of intimacy, and always has to with a special celebration or banquet in honor of one or more people. In Luke 5:29 we read: "And Levi made a great feast in his house; and there was a lot of company of publicans and others who were AT THE TABLE with them." To the table: A place where Christ serves and his guests. Jesus, speaking of the importance of this table, said: "And you are like men who wait for their lord to return from the wedding, so that when he arrives and calls, open it at once Blessed are those servants to their lord , when you eat, find watchfulness; Verily I say unto you, that shall be he, and cause them to sit down at the table, and come to serve them. to the third vigil, if he finds them like that, BLESSED ARE those servants "(Luke 12: 36-38). So here we have Jesus serving those who sit at his table. These are the blessed ones of the Lord, the blessed ones.

Thank you for your sharing, I love it @yridelys

Thank you for sharing this message @yridelys, how rewarding it is to sit at the table with the King, always Jesus tells us about that table that has prepared us. The story of Mephibosheth is encouraging, he lived in Lodebar, place of pain, of forgetfulness, of misery. A revelation that came with this word is that this man was so lonely of being in that condition of pain, but when the King invites him to his table he does not care about his condition because the table cloths of the king's table cover any defect, so we can be some of us sick as Mephibosheth but when the king sends us to call everything is restored:

Go to live in the King's House, go to eat at the King's Table, go to dress the King's Clothes, come to sit next to the King misery you will never know a goodbye to lodebar you will give your life never again it will be the same
"The King sent you to call"
