WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO POSSESS

Numbers 13:30-33

30 Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.”31 But the men who had gone up with him said, “We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.” 32 And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, “The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size. 33 We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them

In today’s story, twelve men were sent to spy out the land the Israelites were expected to possess. Remember God had said He had given it to them as their possession. Two different reports were given. One simply described what the land and its inhabitants looked like. This presentation could never had made the children of God possess what had been promised them.

The second however, acknowledged some facts of the situation but treated them as subject to the grace and power that was present with them. Unfortunately, only two of the men were in the latter category. All it took then was courage that God would deliver on His promise. Where others feared to go back because they saw giants and they looked like grasshoppers in their sight, these men went forward trusting the promise of God.

It takes courage to go in and possess what God has destined for you. The courageous person defies all the odds, looks beyond the circumstances and steps out totally trusting God in the midst of uncertainties. God always comes through for such people.

Prayer

  1. Thank God for the assurance that He will empower you against all that come up against you.
  1. Pray for child-like faith in God and for courage to defy whatever obstacles come your way in possessing your possessions.
  1. Father, I receive the spirit of boldness to confront all obstacles standing in my way in pursuit of your blessings for my life.

Declarations

I declare today that fear is out of my life. I no longer live under the bondage of fear. I look beyond my circumstances and pitch my faith in my heavenly Father. Courage is my portion and today I start a new life of courage in the face of stiff opposition from the enemy. I declare that I am more than a conqueror in every situation in the name of Jesus!

Have a blessed day living and walking in boldness possessing all your inheritance as a child of God for the Holy Spirit has already empowered you .

GOD, MAN OF WAR

Exodus 15:3-7

The Lord is a man of war: the Lord is his name. 4 Pharaoh's chariots and his host hath he cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea.5 The depths have covered them: they sank into the bottom as a stone. 6 Thy right hand, O Lord, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O Lord, hath dashed in pieces the enemy. 7 And in the greatness of thine excellency thou hast overthrown them that rose up against thee: thou sentest forth thy wrath, which consumed them as stubble

Today’s passage is a portion of the song Miriam led the women of Israel to sing after they crossed the Red Sea on dry land. It brings out who God is. The nature of God and His workings on behalf of His children are celebrated in the song of Miriam.

Ponder over how you feel when narrating to your friends a Godly experience you had which made a lot of impact on you. That is exactly what the children of Israel felt as they sang their song. God always wants us to have such experiences that magnify Him in our lives.

God’s heart is gladdened when we discover who He is and His ways of working on our behalf. Making His praise glorious does not involve just shouting like we often do. It involves recounting His power, love and goodness as demonstrated in our life experiences.

Prayer

  1. Celebrate the greatness of the Lord in your own words, recounting His goodness to you.
  1. Ask for spiritual sensitivity to always acknowledge God even in what you consider as the smallest issues of your life.
  1. Father, I thank You for who You are. Help me to see You and know You better so my praise of You will be excellent.

Declarations

I declare that my God is a Man of war. There is none like Him. No one stands against Him and prevails. Jesus reigns above all principality and power. His reigns over all rule and authority. His name is I AM. I AM your sufficiency and everything that you will ever need. Great is His faithfulness. I will declare His name among the nations from now unto eternity in the name of Jesus

Have a wonderful weekend trusting in the Lord God Almighty to fight your battles.
