STEEMCHURCH: It is better to give than to receive.

in #steemchurch7 years ago

Jesus said: "It is more blessed to give than to receive." Acts 20:35

People have a natural tendency to be selfish, this is a subtle trap of the enemy that makes us believe or misunderstand the fact that as God wants us to be prosperous, that all our needs are met, then we will dedicate ourselves to keeping the good only. for us. The current society is determined to tell us and guide us to meet our own needs first and then also.

But, giving is a principle of obedience to GOD and his word; giving is not an option, giving is a blessing. Giving is a vocation that no Christian should avoid, he is called to do so, in accordance with the example that the Lord Jesus left to his disciples.

The Bible invites us, with priority, to cultivate a liberal attitude in terms of giving, rather than an attitude of receiving, but this is not born to us automatically; We need to be filled with the love of GOD, of his spirit for it, so that it comes out naturally without expecting anything in return.

Receiving can be more natural than giving. Life is directed, at least in the whole process of its growth, by a continuous receiving. We all hope to receive. We all want to be recognized. We all want to be esteemed. There is in each breast a hungry heart to receive affection and recognition; and that, in principle, is not questionable. But the Christian life is fundamentally giving.

There are many people who go through life looking instead of giving. But life can not be built exclusively on the basis of what we receive, but on the foundation of what we give. A continuous longing to receive, without ever giving, develops a selfish and self-centered life; focused on one's own needs, and unable to see and feel the needs of others.

Few people conceive happiness from the point of view of giving. But to give is to live. Jesus Christ said that more blessed (happy and happy) is to give than to receive. This demands a profound change of paradigm, in addition to a commitment. It implies leaving our comfort zone. There is no way to give without compromising our time, or money, or energy, or resources of various kinds.

The Bible says in 1 Timothy 6: 17-18 "Command the rich of this world, do not be arrogant and do not put your hope in riches, which are so insecure, but in God, who provides us with everything in abundance so that Let's enjoy them, do good, be rich in good deeds, and generous, willing to share what they have. Thank you @steemchurch,We are called to bless the others with whom God gives us

In a different translation the Scriptures went further to say that there is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving. A cheerful giver is indeed happy all the time. I'm glad I read this, on a sunday morning. Gives room for me to think about my activities throughout the day.

Great post xiore.

It truly is 'better to give than receive.' However, this Knight likes to expand this moral guideline out to a 'community' view - as sometimes the full meaning is lost.

If each member of a Community were to give the very best of themselves to that community, then their community will grow and prosper and everyone will be richer. And this is 'capitalism'.

Alternatively, if a member of the community always wished to receive, giving little or nothing back to the community - this is 'socialism' and the community will eventually collapse.

I have said for a long time - the Church is the moral compass for capitalism - and through SteemChurch, we shall soon see a great resurgence in both.

@xiore - great contribution to our community.

SIRKNIGHT

Thank you for commenting @sirknight, indeed your words are wise, I value your position very much. God has processed me a lot in this area, for me, giving is a treasure that once you find it, you can not let it go.

@sirknight your point is crystal clear... I totally agree with you... You have my upvote...

I went home sometimes ago and I saw a boy without shoes and he was walking barefooted
It moved me and I gave him some cash to go buy a slippers to wear on his foot
When I saw him the next time I was glad I could help but that was not all
When I was going back to school my uncle gave me a brand new shoe
I smiled and I recalled what I did some few days back
There is a greater blessing in giving
Thanks for sharing

Givers are always more blessed and richer.
It is not what we take up but what we give up, that makes us rich.

Very very true, it is better to give because God sees you and he will double your blessings, you will never lack!!

Giving attracts more blessings and offers me a form of joy: inner joy seeing others happy from the simple act of giving.

Truely speaking it is better to give than to recieve, meanwhile as the saying goes;

GIVERS NEVER LACK

And also come to think of it 🤔, a closed hand cannot reciever anything.

The act of giving opens more doors to abundant blessing.

Its the nature of man to be greedy, but when you are in christ giving becomes a lifestyle.
