Follow a devotional plan
The fundamental message of the Bible focuses mostly on the history and teachings of Jesus, expressed in a series of books called gospels. If you have started reading the Bible
Pentateuch
Well, it contains the history of creation and other very old texts.
The first five books of the Bible (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy) are known as the Pentateuch. They relate God's creation of the world and about ancient spiritual characters (such as Noah, Moses, Abraham, and Isaac).
They also include very important passages, like the ten commandments.
Look at the books of wisdom if you are looking for spiritual guidance.
Other books of the Old Testament, such as Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Songs, are full of incredible poetic passages of wisdom.
They can be wonderful readings if you want to deepen your understanding of things like faith, worship of God and justice.
Gradually study the prophetic books to learn about Jesus as the fulfillment of God's plan.
Some books of the Old Testament, such as Isaiah, Ezekiel and Daniel, include passages that refer to the coming of the Messiah and his role in God's plan.
If you want to deepen your understanding of the role of Jesus in Christianity as a whole, these books are good to start reading.
It is also good to read the epistles to learn about the devotion of early Christian leaders.
Epistles are called books like Corinthians, Galatians, Peter and Judas.
These are presented as the letters of the first followers of Jesus. They provide accounts of how they persecuted and tested the faith of the first Christians in being there, but they also provide a great teaching about how to live a devout life.
