O Lord, arise and fight for me

Isaiah 19:1-7, Psalms 35:1

Reflections

Contend, O LORD, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me.

Take up shield and buckler; arise and come to my aid.
1.There are so many things about your life that you do not know, you just live you life as a free man.
2.You cannot fight your life battle alone and succeed.
3.Several of our battles in life comes in the night and the night is the time of weakness. It is the time that you cannot do anything about your life; but that is the very time that the enemies are in operation. That is why Jesus said that while men slept, the enemy came and sow an evil seed.

Beloved brethren, I wish you could go back and reflect on those key points above because it is the nucleus of this piece. Having done that, I want to break down those key point as follows:

There is no way that you will not fight battle in this life as long as you are a living being. As Christian you need to have that consciousness that one of the first things you should know about life is that there are battles all around you and that you have enemies all around you. Funny enough, the enemies you have do not respect whether you are an upright man or whether you are a Christian.

I can imagine someone saying God forbid, I have no enemy, I can never have any enemy because I do not look for any one's trouble and do not advice any one around me to do so. But that does not stop you from having enemy. As a way of helping clear your doubt, this is how you know that you have enemy.

How to know this

Whenever you have a wish to have some things in life, you do all your best to get it, put in the resources to get it, yet at the end of the day you get nothing .

Also, sometimes you desire to live a particular type of life because you know that if you have such life, there will be something that will change in your life.

Thirdly, sometimes there are food that you wish to eat but you get to realize that nature does not permit you, then you will know that there are things fighting against you.

Right from the beginning, God has been interested in family. That is why He created the first man and gave him a house.
God was not satisfied with that, that is why He created made Eve for Adam to fill in his loneliness. He also gave them children and they had a happy family until the devil came in to mislead the members of the family to eat what God has not told them to do.

There are some things that God desires that you eat but the devil will come to deceive you that such thing is not good for you. He would even suggest that you you should eat what you feel like eating. But the truth is that such thing will bring destruction to your way.

So beloved brethren watch out, do not be ignorant of the devices of the wicked ones
