There is a Yoruba folktale which seeks to emphasize the need for clarity in communication. A mother gave her teenage daughter a vague instruction, which bordered on that girl immersing a particular cloth in the large dye pot and leaving it there until the dye was well absorbed. Ironically , the name for the material was also a name borne by the much younger sister of the Teena. She promptly grabbed her your sister and threw her into the large dye pot and the little girl died!
The morale of the folktale is that when giving instructions the sender must make sure that the recipient properly understand the message. Otherwise the communication process would have failed.
