Contrary to the opinion that we were taught in church either in the past or present, whether in the educational institute of learning or Sunday school class. Perhaps, in the Bible study class, theology notwithstanding.
Wherever, we might have swallowed this complicated partial story of Jacob and Esau, that, Jacob was the cheat and not Esau, the fabulous truth of it all will be uncovered in this article.

Let’s quickly look through “Genesis chapter 25 verse 29-34,”
I will like to share with you the biggest lie ever told about the story of Jacob and Esau in the bible. (Note: all scriptural citations were adapted from Authorized KJV Bible)

Genesis chapter 27 actually explains the whole story. But, we will take few extracts from it to buttress our aforementioned title (The biggest lie ever told in church about Jacob and Esau).
Gen. 27 verse 1: “And it came to pass when Isaac was old, and his eyes were dim so that he could not see, he called his oldest son, and said unto him, my son…”
Verse 4: “…make me savory meat, such as I love…that my soul may bless the before I die.”

The above verses (1-4) give the account of the discussion between Isaac and his oldest son, Esau, and the about to be released of fatherly blessings unto Esau.

Look at what Verse 30 of Genesis 25 recorded: “And Esau said to Jacob, feed me, I pray thee, with same pottage; for I am faint…”
Verse 31: “and Jacob said, sell me this day thy birthright.”
Verse 32: “And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do me?”

Meticulously examining the above statement of Esau in verse 32 as above, the concluding part showed that Esau devalued ‘birthright’ against his ‘appetite.’ He cared less about his birthright. He was justifying his state of circumstance (hunger) over eternal reward (birthright) by placing more priority on his stomach.

The biggest lie ever told in church about the story of Jacob and Esau is that the Jacob was a cheat and not Esau in Genesis 27. Meanwhile, the account that took place between them in Genesis 25 verse 29-34 is usually boycotted.
Now, In Genesis 27, Esau said to Jacob, that he took away his birthright but he has forgotten that he accepted to sell it to his brother, Jacob, for appetite sake in Genesis 25.
He doesn’t understand that, he who gets the birthright will also get the blessings.
Esau sold his birthright willing not by compulsion. Because he said it in Genesis 25, “…and what profit shall the birthright do to him”

He was the cheat; he sold his birthright and still wanted the blessings. He wanted to overrule the law of nature, he wanted to eat his cake and still have it. Thus, the truth is that, Jacob was not the cheat but Esau.
