Be very blessed, all the brothers of the first Blockchain Church: STEEMCHURCH

"There was a Pharisee named Nicodemus, an authority among the Jews." He came to Jesus at night and said: "Master, we know that you teach from God, for no one can perform the miraculous signs that you are doing, if God is not with him. "Jesus answered:" I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again. "(John 3: 1-3)

I always feel myself thinking about these verses and at all times I find myself traveling through time and, as a witness of events, imagining every detail of this very precise dialogue between Jesus, a simple man, but full of the truth of God and Nicodemus, an authority of the time, full of secular culture and that represented the dominant religion.

Nicodemus, according to Jewish tradition, devoted much of his life to know the sacred scriptures at the feet of great teachers of the law and now he was clothed with authority. From early childhood, he devoted himself to sacred letters, in the desire to become a recognized Man of God before the society to which he belonged.

Perhaps as a child, when reading the historical accounts and facts of the great kings and prophets who preceded him, he had dreamed of performing great miracles as did Elijah, Elisha and other prophets or speaking in the name of the Lord as Isaiah, Jeremiah or even as David whom he had as Father. I imagine that in his dreams as a child, there were always great miracles of healing, resurrection and other great events. But, with maturity, he let himself be enveloped by the schemes of religion and the world and changed the desire to please God and realize his plans, for the glory of men.

Now he lived of appearances, pomps and honors, demonstrated only outwardly and of the glory of his ancestors. A green fig tree without fruit, sick, atrophied by time and misuse.

Now he was before the truth, of the Anointed One of God, whose simplicity frightened him, in spite of his extraordinary deeds, to take him to a state of ecstasy and admiration. Before Nicodemus, in the form of man (Jesus), were his most incredible dreams, forgotten by time, suffocated by the naturalization of the Word of God.

When we look at the lines of the Gospels and we find the constant confrontations between Pharisees and Sadducees (main representatives of the predominant religion of the time) and Jesus who is the Truth of God, we come to think that these men were true bandits and in all life planned how to kill the son of God. But, in fact, they were the "church" of the time, the people who had an alliance with God. They were so sunk in human appearances, in the naturalization of the Word of God that they did not recognize the Divine before their very eyes. But, I think, it was not always like that. I think that each of them, like Nicodemus, dreamed one day to be like Jesus, but now they were "too mature to believe in miracles".

We need to always advance in the knowledge of God, but never renounce the simplicity of His Word.

Receive with meekness and practice the gospel of Christ, will lead us to enjoy an abundant life. Accept the simplicity of your words and never question their answers. If he says "be humble", then we will be humble. If he says "be holy", then we will be sanctified. If we are told "forgive", then we exercise forgiveness. If he tells us "Judge not, but love one another as I have loved you", we should simply do what the teacher has commanded us.

It's like Being Born Again, SIMPLY!

Behind every simple sentence of Jesus there is immense power, therefore, the interpretation of the scriptures is the most perfect when it is He who analyzes it. "You have to be born again Nicodemus," were his simple but profound words that shook the theology of all life, Nicodemus.

In my next entry, I will talk about what it means to be born again!

Sort:

Jesus speaks of the Kingdom of God that leads man to the practice of good works, by inner transformation. Nicodemus, accustomed to the practice of external rituals of the law, had difficulty understanding with the heart.
