Living a Praise Life
The power of praise is one that cannot be overemphasized, praise is an important weapon to bring God into our situations and battle.
ACT 16:25 But about midnight when Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them;
From the above scripture, we can say that praise is a spiritual weapon that releases us from any form of prison or bondage. If we praise God we must do so in faith, because anything out of faith is sin, thus until we praise God in faith, it will not bring about our desired turnaround.
Praise must be done from the heart and also must be done expectantly. Thinking too much about the challenges of life and comparison are the major factors that causes hindrance to the blessing of praise, and the only way to access the blessing of praise is through obedience - Deuteronomy 28:1 (Now it shall be, if you diligently listen to and obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all of His commandments which I am commanding you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth)
Anytime we start a journey, there isn’t much point in determining where we want to go if we don’t know where we are. And we are all at different places on our spiritual journeys.
Maybe it’s been a while since you’ve thought about the answer to that question. On this first day of our journey, let’s have an honest conversation with our heavenly Father and ourselves. Paul Taylor Smith wrote a song called “Satisfied.” In the song, he makes this statement:
“There is nothing worth more than the love you have for me, God. I’m satisfied in you.”
So I have gazed upon You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory. Because Your loving kindness is better than life, My lips shall praise You. So will I bless You as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. My soul [my life, my very self] is satisfied as with marrow and fatness, And my mouth offers praises [to You] with joyful lips. PSALM 63:2-5 AMP
believing that nothing in this life was worth more than God’s love. I want this to be true of me.
Take a few minutes and listen to Paul's song. Then answer this question: “Am I satisfied in you, Jesus?”
Like David in Psalm 42 I echo "as the dear panteth for water so do my soul thirst for you oh God..."
