THE MODERN DAY CHURCH AND CHRIST!
The Church is now a mess, traditionally a church is the body Christ with a common Believe in the Trinity. This days, churches are money ventures; recently Bishop Oyedepo of Living Faith Church was declared the Richest pastor by Forbes. It is so painful what modern day church and Christianity had turn to.
When a church is so consumed with the quest of making more and more money, they loose sight of the big picture which is Shepherding People to the path of Righteousness. What other functions is the services of the House of God? A question only the Olden days Church; the church of Pentecost could only answer.
Christ is the Head of the Church, this days it all seems like the General overseers and senior pastors. This set of people feels like Heads of States and World Rulers themselves, that humility of Christ is missing and you can't help but wonder if their followers actually do not read the scriptures at all or just too delusional to adhere to the wisdom of the Holy book. The depiction of House of God as money making business is sickening coupled with the facts that the Rich people in the earliest Church shared their resources among the poor equally and there was no needy among them. Present days Pastors seems to oppress the poor among them and making them feel more poor!
In Nigeria, it is a sorry case as all the Churches now competes to own a college. Not a bad idea to run educational services, but running an expensive one that the common church goers can never afford. Now is this a reasonable service? The colleges that the average church goers could never afford?
Christ is the Church, and not a money making ventures,only if followers could be wiser and not be a zombie but study the Word of God and not be a Puppet to the Church and it's superfluous doctrines!

Now this is what i call reasoning. Nice post @the-commentator .. Sometimes I ask myself If the so-called general overseers are bothered about the average church goers who's money is what is used to fund all those expensive schools. I think something needs to be done abt it ASAP.

Hmm. I think it will be good to watch what we say about these men of God in order not to sin to God through them. Whether we like it or not these people are anointed. Weather they are doing it right or wrong, leave them for God to judge. And for their followers, everyone has a reason for following whosoever he or she chooses to follow. Our focus should be on God and not on any man of God.
