What did the scientists think of the existence of God? Part I

6- Albert Einstein (1879-1955)

"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mystery, the knowledge of the existence of something incomprehensible to us, the manifestation of the deepest reason together with the brightest beauty. I can not imagine a God who rewards and punishes the objects of his creation ... "

Albert Einstein, one of the most famous physicists of the 20th century, was born into a Jewish family. As an adult, he tried to avoid religious labels, rejecting the idea of a "personal God", but at the same time, separating himself from the "fanatical atheists".

7- Carl Sagan (1934-1996)

"Science is not only compatible with spirituality; It is a profound source of spirituality. When we recognize our place in an immensity of light years and in the passage of time, when we understand the complexity, the beauty and the subtlety of life, then that feeling of euphoria and combined humility, is undoubtedly spiritual. "

Carl Sagan rejected the label of "atheist", since he was open to the possibility that science would one day find convincing evidence to prove the existence of God; although he also thought that the probability of this happening was very small.

8- Stephen Hawking (nacido en 1942)

"Before understanding science, it was natural to believe that God created the universe, but now science offers a more convincing explanation."

In 2014 Stephen Hawkings confirmed to the press that he was an atheist. Hawkings does not believe in heaven or in the hereafter and says that the miracles of religion "are not compatible" with science.

9- Venkatraman Ramakrishnan (nacido en 1952)

"There is no scientific basis to demonstrate how the movement of planets and stars can influence our destiny. The predictions are obvious or demonstrated at random. A culture based on superstitions will be worse than one based on scientific knowledge and rational thinking. "

Known for its famous temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. Believe that astrology was developed to follow the desire of the human being to seek "patterns, generalize and believe."

10- Neil deGrasse Tyson (nacido en 1958)

"So you're made of detritus (stars that have exploded). Get over. Or better yet, celebrate it. After all, what noble thought can appreciate that the universe lives within all of us?

This astrophysicist is not convinced by religious arguments about the existence of a "Judeo- Christian" god who is all powerful and all goodness, especially when observing the death and suffering caused by natural disasters.
