Awesome word, when we die to self we avail ourselves for the Holy Spirit to function unhindered through us. Christ is anxiously waiting on us, because there is work for us to do, in Mark 16:17, Christ said to all who believe, they will lay hands on the sick, speak with new tongues and cast out demons and nothing will hurt them. In John14:12 Jesus said, that the works which he does, those who believe, will do greater works. There is a whole lot of other scriptures which supports the fact that the believer can be empowered to function as the apostles of old. Of utmost importance is the need to walk uprightly, Matthew ^:33 seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. Whilst Christ was speaking about our earthly needs this word stretches beyond food and clothing. This is a now word, because God is seeking those who will be used by Him to usher in the time of Jesus' return, by fulfilling the great commission, healing the sick, giving a word of encouragement, in other words be the light and the salt of the earth.
