Good day great parishioners and Apostles of God in @steemchurch. I will be sharing briefly on "Compromise."

The long awaited day for the concert was here; lots of young men and ladies thronged the terrain and in a very short time, it was time to party.

Since it was Val’s day, Kim who had sneaked out of Campus [unknown to her brother] to participate in the mega fiesta, saw it as an opportunity to rock it in the dance with her newly found love – Tunzi. She had heard a lot about the street concert and having being brainwashed by her roommates and colleagues in school about the “negative effects” of remaining a virgin till marriage, decided to intentionally hit the “love nob” with the guy she loved.

Kim was in her finals as a Biochemistry student and as a girl well trained from home with good morals, she had kept herself as a virgin up till this point. She was a perfect description of beauty, with a light smooth skin and a nicely shaped pointed nose. A lady with a high intelligence quotient and a glossy appearance that everyone would love to behold.

But, what must have come over her that she wanted to willingly throw her pearls to the swine, desiring to open her legs to a man who she barely met a few weeks back and had not paid her bride price? What had happened to the once godly Kim, who left home as the pride of her parents and Pastor? How on earth did she come to believe the lies that there were no more virgins and staying without sex till marriage had lots of negative consequences? Howbeit, it began somewhere.

During the early days of her university career, she stumbled on some magazines (belonging to one of her roommates) with lots of nude images and erotic write ups. “Roselyn, what are you doing with all these? She shouted to her roomy! I taught we both came from godly homes? Shhh! Roselyn cut in “Don’t pretend, didn’t you enjoy those nice sexual positions and images in your mind while going through them? After all, we are not committing fornication and these things are not taught us in church or in school, so how do we get to know them?” Really? It sounded so good to Kim; at least I am not sleeping with any man or woman and this gives me so excitement and pleasure in mind while learning new things, she thought. Not too long, she had furnished her mind with so much sexual fantasy that on this day, it didn’t seem like anything evil to try it out with a real guy, who has even shown interest in marrying her.

As the street concert went on, she had danced and twisted her hips so close to Tunzi, rubbing his manhood with her thigh in her tightly fitted skirt, that they both got sexual aroused. They didn’t waste any further time on the dance floor but quickly got a room to drink in the fill of their lust.

The party was over and as smart as she thought she was, she ensured Tunzi had a condom on before penetration but was so carried away that she didn’t notice some tiny sores in his mouth and on his genital organ when she did oral (like she learnt from the porn magazines). Well, days turned into weeks and weeks went forth into months, Kim felt proud that she now knew her way round the game since she didn’t get pregnant.

However, not long into the year, she began to notice a drastic change in her body, as unusual smell and discharge oozed out of her vagina more frequently than normal and unusual symptoms began to manifest. She just couldn’t trace this source but she summoned courage to visit a doctor, and after series of tests, her results showed the hidden cankerworm. “I am sorry Kim, but it’s CONFIRMED!” the doctor calmly told her. “But I don’t yet understand, what’s going on, what confirmation do you mean?” she interrupted. Then in plain terms Doctor Chika said, “I’m sorry dear, you have contracted Syphilis and since it had long there in your system and not properly handled, it has gotten to a terminal state that I can’t just help anymore. It has damaged some organs of your body and from my estimation, you may not live more than 3 months from now.”

At this point, the whole scene of 99 Street Concert played afresh in her mind. She was speechless, confused and devastated for a while and then she began, “what have I done oh God? How did I get myself to this point? Doctor I can remember vividly” she tried to explain as thick hot tears ran out like a spring down her cheeks, soaking her clothes. “But Doctor, it was just one night in the 99 street concert, it only lasted for 15mins, just 15mins doctor” Hey! How could I have been so stupid to play myself this folly, I thought I was smart? I have lost it all – My relationship with God, my academics, my spiritual gift, my health, all in one careless night. It’s over Doc, I don’t think I can wait for the remaining 3 months. As she spoke with her mouth heavy with sobs, she slumped in the doctor’s office and passed on.

Dearly beloved, as I type, I am doing this with a heavy heart and eyes full with tears.

How are the mighty fallen and great destinies truncated like a flower fading in the sun? How many youths and teenagers have played the fool, dancing with the devil at the gate of hell thinking they are smart? Many have sold their destinies, souls and bodies to the devil on the altar of sex in exchange for an iPhone, clothes, car, good grades, etc.

But beloved, you can choose to be different today.

Are you held against your will in lust? Or, are you addicted to mundane things? Find from His Word words relevant for your freedom and pray from your heart today. Jesus heals and delivers.

Let your past remain in the past. Move on. It is never too late to seek Jesus.
Call on Him today He'll come running to you to save you.
