STEEM CHURCH - DON'T BE ASHAMED OF THE GOSPEL
Hello steemians and members of the steem church, today i want to discus about BEING UNASHAMED OF THE GOSPEL. If you want to know more about me, check my introduction post here
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE UNASHAMED OF THE GOSPEL?
In Romans 1 : 16-17, apostle Paul declared
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, 'The righteous shall live by faith.'"
The shame talked about here is not the feeling of shyness or feeling socially embarrassed of preaching the gospel. The word "ashamed" he uses is translated from the Greek word epaischunomai , which means "disgraced" or "personally humiliated." This 'personal humiliation' is as a result of putting your trust and faith into something that is not worthwhile, or something you feel will not pay back. That is a wrong approach to Christianity.
Are you ashamed of the Gospel? If so, is it because of the world's opinion concerning the Gospel? Yes, the world (unbelievers) is opposed to the Gospel and ridicules it. But, the world's ridicule has no bearings on the powerful effect of what the Gospel is able to do in one who is willing to receive it.
BE SHAMED NOT ASHAMED
Anyone in their right mind should not be ashamed to proclaim the "Good News" of the Gospel, for it is the power unto which all man "MUST" be saved. Suffer, be misunderstood, be rebuked, be shamed but never be ashamed because the message of salvation is God's salvation is the only triumphant message of the world. There is short term pain but long term gain.

A person becomes ashamed when he sin's, but us in the Lord are never ashamed of his gospel
Thanks for stopping by. But Sin might not be the only reason to be ashamed. When things are not working out well for a steadfast christian, shame can also come, dont you think?
