Friends Here or Family Forever?
Mar 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
Recently I was asked to speak at a funeral and the entire congregation was made up of two false religions. In my opening remarks I mentioned the two religions and informed everyone that I was going to be their friend that day and tell them the truth, no just what they wanted to hear. I know it was a funeral and many people were grieving, but the person that was in the casket had already finished their life and their destiny was already determined. But the people that were in the audience still had a chance as they were still living.

So many times we try to keep peace. We want to be nice and we also want to be popular with our peers. What about being pleasing to God? Is it acceptable for us to be friends with everyone and then afterwards the people we know lose their soul?
Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
There is no second chance after we die. We have to determine our eternity while we still live. Are we a good friend if we say nothing about the error of our friend? I think a real friend will risk a friendship and say the truth in love. The family member of ours that is in error. How can we just keep the peace and sacrifice eternity?
Mat 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Mat 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Mat 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
Mat 10:37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
Mat 10:38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
Mat 10:39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
Imagine arriving in heaven and your best friend is not there. You made it and they didn’t! You are there and not mom or dad. Your children are missing. You kept the peace your entire life and never told them about the Way, The Truth and The Life.
*After preaching in the funeral i mentioned earlier. A woman came to me and said, “You know that is the first time I heard that message! The message I preached was the Gospel and she had not yet heard. *
Just a few thoughts as I am sitting in the Airport in Manila!
