STEEMCHURCH: God wants everything from you

in #steemchurch6 years ago

Marcos 12:30
And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the main commandment.

God wants everything from you. God does not want a part of your life, He is not interested in half commitments, partial obedience or the leftovers of your time or money, he wants everything: heart, soul, mind, strength. The place of worship is not as important, as why we worship and how much of our being we offer God when we do it.

God really likes worship: We can not create our own image of God, which is comfortable and politically correct, and worship it. That is idolatry. Worship should be based on the truth of the Scriptures, not on our opinion about God.

Praise that does not spring from the heart is useless, because it is not praise. When we worship, God looks beyond our words, observes the attitude of our heart. As adoration implies to please God, He does not want theatricality or pretense, nor farces in adoration. He wants our sincere and true love.

True worship occurs when our spirit responds to God, not to a melody.

The Bible mentions various forms of praise: confession, singing, clamoring, standing, kneeling, dancing, testimony, raising hands, and many others. The best state of worship is the one that most authentically represents our love for God. We are all different and we all have a personal and different way of love for God. Regarding friendship and adoration towards God, there are no unique carvings. God wants you to be yourself.

God likes reflective worship: God does not like apathy, indifference, or not thinking about what we do when we worship. Your mind must be on what you do. God likes practical worship: This involves giving everything to God, starting with our own bodies, because while we are on this earth, our spirit can only be where our body is. If your body is not present you are not there. God wants a living sacrifice from us, that is, that we live for Him.

God likes different types of worship sacrifices: gratitude, praise, humility, repentance, offerings, prayer, service to others, sharing with the needy. True worship has a price. Adoration sacrifices our egocentricity. We need to withdraw the focus of our person and put it in God to worship Him. Worship requires effort and energy. It is not always the most convenient or the most comfortable, and sometimes adoration is an act of absolute will. Passive worship is an incongruity. We offer sacrifice of adoration to God when we praise him, when we adore him, when we help others.
