The Sin That Lives Within

Living with Sin

Source

Romans 7: 14-17
Because we know that the law is spiritual; but I am carnal, sold to sin. Because what I do, I do not understand; I do not do what I want, but what I hate, I do. And if what I do not want, this I do, I approve that the law is good. So it is no longer I who do that, but the sin that dwells in me.

We often live tempted between circumstances, good and bad, where we can slip and lose the course of holiness. It is difficult to fight against their threats. But rather than fight against the world or against the forces of evil in the dark, the most difficult thing is to overcome our own impulses, our ego, our pride.

Romans 7:24   Miserable of me! Who will deliver me from this body of death?

When we give free rein to our flesh, we open the door to evil and with it sin and possibly death. By not resisting sin, the satan finds doors and windows open, and gets into our lives immediately, to destroy our peace, our family, our marriage, our children and ourselves.

But as the word says, it is difficult even knowing that it is wrong, doing good:

Romans 7:20 And if I do what I do not want, I do not do it, but the sin that dwells in me.

Within ourselves is the evil, the original sin, the weak flesh that resists God, but our spirits must praise and glorify God and he will give us the understanding to walk according to his heart and his commandments, holding the flesh to what our spirit demands and thus pleasing God.

Santiago says: "Submit yourself, then, to God; resist the devil and he will flee from you; approach God and he will approach you. Purify your hands, sinners; sanctify your hearts, undecided. Recognize their misery, lament it and cry. What suits them is crying and not laughter, sadness and not joy. Humble yourself before the Lord and he will enslave you. " James 4: 7-10

Resist the devil, stay close to God. The first will flee and our Father will approach us. Jesus Christ has already paid for our sins, past, present and future. If we fall, there is no reason to be defeated, in a process of endless guilt and punishment, the Savior shed all his blood to pay the price of our redemption.

Let us try to fight against adversity, against worldliness, against bad influences, and thus keep ourselves clean for the Lord and free from all sin. Let us also make an effort to confess the faults in order to receive the forgiveness of God daily and continue walking towards the purification of our souls and our bodies, thus earning and truly overcoming the sin that is within each one of us.

Sort:

Thanks to Jesus sin will not reign in our mortal bodies Ruben, a day like today Jesus won for us on the cross of Calvary.
