Hello friends of Steemit !!!

I hope you are all very well today I want to share a brief reflection.

Luke 10: 25-40 Reina-Valera 1960 (RVR1960)
The Good Samaritan

25 And behold, an interpreter of the law stood up and said, to prove to him: Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
26 He said to him, What is written in the law? How do you read?
27 He answered and said, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.
28 And he said to him, You have answered well; do this, and you will live.
29 But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus: And who is my neighbor?
30 Jesus answered and said, A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who stripped him; and wounding him, they left, leaving him half dead.
31 And it came to pass that a priest came down that way, and when he saw him, he passed by.
32 Likewise a Levite, coming near that place, and seeing him, passed by.
33 But a Samaritan, who was on his way, came near him, and when he saw him, he was moved with mercy;
34 And approaching, he bound up his wounds, pouring oil and wine on them; and putting him on his mount, he took him to the inn, and took care of him.
35 On another day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, and gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, Take care of him; and everything you spend more, I'll pay you when you return.
36 Who then of these three do you think was the neighbor of the one who fell into the hands of the thieves?
37 He said: He who used mercy on him. Then Jesus said to him: Go, and do the same.

This is a passage from the bible well known to many but has a very powerful and interesting message, if we realize in this story there are four characters, the first was a Jew who was attacked by thieves (victim), the second was a priest (someone who knows the word of God), the third is a Levite (this is a servant of God's work) and the fourth was a Samaritan (a person from another state to identify him in some way).

Now it is important to emphasize how the priest and the Levite (people of God) did not help this Jewish man even though they were also Jews saw him and did nothing, they passed by. However, a Samaritan went through this, he saw him, he took care of him, he gave him help when he needed it, and the interesting thing is that in these times the Samaritans and the Jews had no deal, in fact the Samaritans were less appreciated by the Jews. And the powerful thing about this message is that precisely the one that perhaps the Jew never thought could help him was the one who did it. And that's where the love is shown that even though the Samaritan knew the differences between them and the Jews, he did not care, his heart was moved in mercy, I help him, this is an act of love for his neighbor.

Today we can realize that this type of acts of love we do not see every day, for the same current situation worldwide we have become distrustful, selfish. But clearly God tells us in his word that we love our neighbor as ourselves, it is difficult if but God helps us by giving us his love and so we can reflect it to others.

Let us love God more every day, first of all, and all those around us, even our enemies. Let us be like the Samaritan who helped the Jew despite his differences. When we love our fellowmen we can fulfill the commandments of God because we are not going to harm anyone (we will not steal it, we will not kill it, we will not envy it, we will not covet etc.)

Let's fill our hearts with the love of God !!
