Growing In The Word
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE. "And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace (favor and spiritual blessing) of God was upon Him." (Luke 2:40 AMP).
Growth in the kingdom of God is not optional, but mandatory! You either grow or you will groan in misery. Stop looking for shortcuts, settle down and grow in the word that God has prepared for you. If you grow up, you will stay up because there is no shortcut to prosperous living. Your development in God determines if God can entrust you with signs and wonders or not.
The Lord Jesus came to this earth with the fulness of the Godhead yet because He was a child He could not manifest any prosperity until He grew. The opening scripture says Jesus began as a child, but He did not stop there. He developed physically, spiritually and mentally. He grew in these three dimensions of human existence. You must begin your Christian adventure as child but you must not remain a child. You are expected to grow into adulthood in the word of God, until then there are miracles you are not permitted to handle. Good fathers don't give car keys to eight year olds for a ride. Although the vehicle is the childs heritage, as long as he is underage, he is not permitted to drive. But when the same child turns eighteen, he becomes a co-owner of the same car.
Similarly when you mature as a Christian, many of the things you are clamouring for now will be at your disposal (2 Corinthians 4:17 AMP). No matter the level of God's glory that you need, it's available and accessible in God, but you must grow to match it in measure and stature by the word of God. From a son Jesus grew to a point where He was equal with God. He grew to an extent where He said, "I and my father are one." but that was not where He started.
In the school of growth you don't graduate; you keep growing. Growth is a continuos process because the day you stop growing you start dying. Grow in the word and enjoy express prosperity that goes with continuous growth. I see your favour expanding as you grow in the word.
TODAY'S PRAYER
Father I refuse to be stagnant in the word of God but will grow to receive more favour, increase, prosperity, miracles and all spiritual virtues in Jesus name. Amen.
