if you think about it, this technology is even more incredible for its many other applications. It means you can heat a pinpoint spot, even through other objects and walls. Of course, that has weaponizable applications, and defensive, such as melting just the right wire on an inbound missile.
I think of it in a manufacturing sense, though. It would lead to many innovations in metallurgy, I think. I wonder what the energy efficiency would be for something like this? What powers it?
