Spiritual Food For Sight

From the night that Israel was delivered from Egypt, God had purposefully made it known to them that they could only get to the promised land by strict obedience to His Words.

The Passover that they observed was to be a perpetual rite. His word was the same as His provision. It must be strictly adhered to.

And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, He took bread and blessed it and brake, and gave to them. And their eyes were opened
Luke 24:30 to 31

For forty years, Israel lived on manna. Though they did not value it, it was what sustained them till Canaan. It was God's spiritual food meant to make them obey Him at all times.
Moses said:

And he humbled thee, and suffer thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man does not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live. Deuteronomy 8:3.

Israel had a problem with food. God had the solution in His Word. Jeremiah said:

Thy words were found, and I did eat them and thy Word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart. Jeremiah 15:16.
God's word was food to Jeremiah, whereas unto Ezekiel it was as sweet as honey Ezekiel 3:3.

Until Jesus shared the bread with the two disciples, they did not recognise Him. But when they ate the bread, their eyes were opened. Their eyes were opened because Jesus spoke a word to the bread. The Centurion told Jesus to speak a word and his servant will be healed.

Revelations 10:10
And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey.
