NOW, YOU ARE PRIVILEGED TO COMMUNE WITH THE LORD
When we begin a new walk with the Lord, there are many blessings that are involved and one of it is a restored relationship which opens us up for good communication. I hope you will be blessed by the content of this blog.
HAPPY NEW MONTH!
Matt 6:5-8:
Being born again is a prerequisite to a sweet walk with God. The moment we believed Christ Jesus, the seed gift of God to us, we are qualified for amazing relationship blessings such as communing with the Lord. From then, you were no more a stranger, rather, a part of the family who is a co-heir with Christ.
The art of communing with God was severally taught by the Lord to his disciples both by His own vivid life example and when they asked Him to teach them how to pray. It is the place of undressing our hearts and lives before the Lord in and is better experienced in the secret place. It is even clear that it is he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High that shall abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
The place of communing with God is place of prayer. The secret of effective prayer is praying in the secret. God longs to commune with us over everything He wants us to do in this life. It is at the place of communing with God that He opens our eyes further to see the deep things of the word.
In this blog, we shall look into that art of being alone with God so as to communicate with God and have God commune with us. It is in such a place that we shall learn to hear from God and this avails God to place the burden of His heart on our own heart, making us effective and useful instrument or vessels for our own generation.
There are God’s provisions for us to commune with Him
God has made certain provisions to enable us have effective personal communion with Him. He does not want us to seek Him in vain. He makes Himself available to us and promised us a glad welcome in His presence.
1. We have access into His presence
Rom 5:1-2, Eph 2:13, Eph 3:11-12, Heb. 4:16, 10:19-22
Unlike in the old testament days when only the High Priest was allowed to enter the very presence of God, and that only once a year to atone for himself and the people. Now, the new Testament believers have unlimited access to the presence of God by the blood of Jesus. We can go in and be in the presence of God our father any moment and fellowship with Him. He is always ready to afford us the intimacy of His presence. There, we have liberty to make our request known to Him and we have the privilege of having Him share His burden with us, to teach us His ways.
2. He gave us His Spirit
Gal 4:6-7, Rom 8:15-16, 26-27, 1 Cor. 2:9-12
Having now the spirit of God, we have boldness and liberty in His presence, and we have the divine ability to know his mind and his plans concerning our lives. The spirit of God is what helps us to communicate to God as well as He communicating with us.
3. He has given us His Name
John 14:13-14, 15:10, 16:23-26
God is pleased with Jesus Christ because of what He did for us on the cross; for this reason, the Name of Jesus was highly exalted above all things in heaven, on earth and underneath. The mention of that name brings the lords of the earth to their knees. We have been given access to use this name to ask for anything and receive same. This is a great provision of God for our communion with God without Him we cannot have any access to God.
4. He has given us His Word
2 Peter 1:2-4, 1 John 5:14-15, 2 Tim 3:15-17
God’s will is embedded in His word. His word is the power of creation. God has therefore given us His written word in the bible so that as we search the scriptures by the help of the Holy Spirit, we are able to pray effectively. With the word hid in our heart, we can talk back those promises back to God who is ever faithful to fulfil them.
We have His invitation
Isaiah 1:18, Eph 3:11-12)
Not only has the Lord made provision for us to come and have sweet communion with Him, He has also given us an open invitation to come and the privilege to reason and discuss with Him. His arms are always ope for us. He is ready to ease our heavy burden. What then are you waiting for? The door into the Holy of holies is open. We do not have to waste the divine privilege.
Conclusion
From the afore, you can see that spending time daily alone with God is a vital aspect of Christian life and a privilege we share in identifying with Him. There is need for you to have a regular contact with God if you must succeed in your Christian life. Our Lord Jesus made Himself an example for us. Let us follow day by day His footsteps.
HAPPY NEW MONTH!
