Is Your Church An Ark that Will Take You to Heaven?

교회란 헬라어로 ‘에클레시아’라는 단어로서 무리나 공동체라는 뜻입니다.
The word 'church' comes from 'eclesia,' a Greek word for 'a meeting' or 'a party' of people.

그러나 이 단어는 본래 종교적인 의미를 내포하지는 않았습니다.
Originally, this word did not have any religious meaning.

다만 성경에서 이 단어를 차용할 때 그런 뜻이 많이 포함되어 있을 뿐이었죠.
The Bible often used this word, and it had religious reference when used.

그러나 모든 ‘에클레시아’를 죄다 교회라고 번역하지 않았습니다.
But not all 'eclesias' were translated into the word 'church.'

하나님을 믿지 않는 사람들에게는 민회나 무리라고 번역하였어요.
It turned into such word as 'group' when it came to non-religious people.

성경에서 말하는 교회는 예수님이 베드로에게 말하신바 대로, 예수님의 몸으로 세운 공동체를 말합니다.(마16:18,골1:24)
The 'church' the Bible mentions is the group built via Christ's body, just like Jesus told Peter. (Matthew 16: 18, Colossians 1: 24)

말하자면 예수님이 함께 하시는 공동체를 말합니다.
In other words, it refers to group of people who were with Christ.

그러므로 그런 교회라면 예수님의 명령을 자신의 목숨보다 더 소중하게 여기며 그 뜻대로 행하는 교회이겠고, 당연히 놀라운 하나님의 능력이 나타나는 교회일 겁니다.
Therefore, those churches are probably the ones that show amazing power of God to this world, the ones who adore and follow Jesus' commands more than their own lives and execute accordingly.

그러므로 여러분네 교회가 이런 교회인지 아닌지 분별하는 기준에 대해 살펴보겠습니다.
So I would like to see if your church is the church Bible mentions, and how to distinguish such groups.

1. 성령의 능력이 나타나는가?
2. Does it show power of the Holy Spirit?

이 시대는 성령의 시대이죠.
It is the age of Holy Spirit today.

성령은 하나님의 영이자, 예수 그리스도의 영과 동일하신 분입니다.
Holy Spirit is spirit of God and of Jesus Christ.

그러므로 예수 그리스도의 몸 된 교회는 전지전능하신 하나님의 능력이 나타나는 교회입니다.
So the church built on Christ is the church that shows God's power and grace.

성령의 능력은 영혼을 구원하고 하나님의 나라를 확장하는 수단으로 사용되었으며, 그 중심이 귀신을 쫓아내고 질병을 고치며 삶의 문제를 해결해주는 능력에 있습니다.
Holy Spirit's power is used to rescue souls and expand God's kingdom; and the core power and the ability chase demons out and heal illnesses, resolving issues in life.

그래서 여러분네 교회는 귀신을 쫓아내며 질병을 고치며 교인들의 지난한 삶의 문제를 해결해주고 있습니까?
Does the church YOU attend do such things, like chasing demons and resolving people's problems in life?

아니라면 귀신 이야기는 꺼내지도 못하게 하며, 정신질환이나 고질병환자들은 병원을 소개해주고, 교인들의 삶의 문제에 대해 무능하고 무기력한 교회라면 예수 그리스도의 몸 된 교회일 리가 없습니다.
If not--if your church doesn't like to talk about demons, refer people to doctors instead of healing them, or powerless when it comes to resolving life's issues--your church is certainly not the one working as Christ's hands.

그냥 기독교를 종교로 하는 종교단체일 겁니다.
It may be just a religious group that selected Christianity as its religion to follow.

1. 죄를 깨닫게 하고 싸워 이기는 보혈의 능력을 강조하는가?
2. Does it teach you about pleading to blood of Jesus Christ, to repent and fight against sins?

교회의 가르침에서 십자가의 보혈의 능력을 들어볼 수 없는 교회가 널려있습니다.
There are tons of churches that talk about the power of Christ's blood in the sermons.

교회란 예수님의 몸 된 공동체이며, 예수께서 우리의 죄를 대신해서 십자가에서 끔찍한 희생을 치르신 대가로 세워졌어요.
Church is the group that works as body of Christ, and it was created for Jesus' sacrifice on the cross for our sins.

죄로 멀어진 하나님과의 관계를 회복하려면, 누군가가 만연해있는 사람들의 죄의 대가를 대신 치러주어야 하기 때문입니다.
In order to restore our relationship with God, which was lost due to sin, someone had to pay for the price.

그 분이 바로 예수 그리스도가 아닙니까?
Christ is the one who paid for that, no?

그렇다면 교회는 예수 그리스도의 보혈 위에 세워졌으며, 교인들은 날마다 십자가의 보혈의 공로를 힘입어 죄와 싸우고 죄를 부추기는 악한 영과 싸워 이기는 무리들이어야 할 겁니다.
Then, true church must be built on top of blood Jesus shed; the followers should be the ones who fight against demons and win, with the power of the cross and the blood of Jesus.

그러나 교회가 친목단체나 다름이 없으며, 죄를 깨닫게 하며 싸워 이겨야 한다는 가르침이 없는 교회가 우리네 주변에 허다합니다.
But churches today don't teach people to repent and fight against sins; they are mere groups of fellowship and entertainment.

그런 교회는 예수님과 아무런 상관이 없는 교회일 겁니다.
Those churches probably have nothing to do with Jesus Christ.

제 말이 믿어지지 않는다면, 오늘부터라도 목회자의 설교마다 예수 그리스도의 보혈의 능력을 강조하며, 죄와 싸워 이겨야 한다고 목청을 돋우고 강조하는 지 살펴보시기 바랍니다.
If you are a bit skeptical, please take a good look and listen to what your preacher preaches; see if he or she emphasizes the importance of fighting against sins and repentance.

아니라면 여러분네 교회는 십자가의 희생 위에 세워진 교회가 아니라 무늬만 교회인 교회입니다.
If not, your church is not church Christ wanted; it is a fellowship group that claims to be a religious group.

1. 성경적인 기도를 가르치는가?
2. Does it teach biblical way to pray?

대부분의 교회에서는 예배의식에 참석하고 십일조를 드리고 교회봉사를 하는 등의 희생적인 신앙행위를 강조하면서 종교적인 신앙인으로 양육하고 있습니다.
Most churches today nurture Christians into religious people, emphasizing on eager participation for services, offerings, volunteer, and other sacrificial church activities.

그러나 종교적인 신앙은 율법적인 신앙이며, 그 대표적인 인물이 바로 바리새인과 서기관이었습니다.
But religious faith depends on strict rules set for themselves; the well known ones who followed are Pharisees and scribes.

그들은 안식일 준수와 십일조, 600여 가지의 율법의 항목들을 꼼꼼하게 지켰습니다.
They had over 600 hundred rules to follow, including keeping the Sabbath and tithe.

그러나 예수님은 그들을 향해 독사(귀신)의 새끼라고 저주하였으며, 두루 다니다가 교인 한 사람을 만나면 두 배나 지옥의 자식들을 만든다고 책망하였습니다.
But Jesus called and cursed them the offsprings of snake, creating children of demons by roaming around as a group, "spreading gospel."

그러므로 여러분네 담임목사가 예배의식의 참석을 강요하고 각종 희생적인 신앙행위만을 강요하고 있다면, 필시 바리새인과 서기관들과 다를 바가 없을 겁니다.
So if your preacher demands your attendance in participation in various activities, he or she is no different from Pharisees and scribes mentioned here.

그렇다면 하나님이 가장 기뻐하는 행위는 무엇일까요? 바로 하나님과 깊고 친밀한 교제를 나누는 겁니다.
Then, what is the act God wants and rejoices the most? It is the act of having a close relationship with Him.

기도와 말씀이 그 통로이죠.
Prayer and His words are the ways of communicating with Him.

그러나 성경지식을 해박하게 머리에 쌓아두는 것이 아니라 성령이 주시는 깨달음으로 삶에 적용해야 합니다.
But you should not just store biblical knowledge in you head; you must apply them to your own life, as Holy Spirit gives you the realization of what they truly mean.

그렇다면 성령이 내주하는 기도의 습관이 필수적입니다.
Then you must pray for Holy Spirit's indwelling and make a habit of it.

그런 기도가 바로 하나님을 쉬지 않고 간절히 부르는 기도입니다.
And that is the continual prayer, calling and seeking God non-stop.

사도바울은 쉬지 않고 기도하라고 하였고, 예수님은 깨어서 항상 기도하라고 명령하셨습니다.
Paul commanded us to pray continually; Jesus commanded us to be alert and pray always.

그게 바로 성경적인 기도의 모습입니다.
That is how you pray biblically.

여러분네 교회는 교인들에게 그런 기도방식을 훈련시켜서 습관을 들이려고 애쓰고 있습니까?
Does your church try to make you pray in such way, to make a habit of that?

아니라면 새벽기도나 작정기도, 혹은 교회에서 정한 기도회에 참석하여 자신들이 원하는 기도의 목록을 외치는 기도만을 가르치고 있는지 잘 살펴보세요.
If not, see if it tells you to come to prayer meetings and recite your request list over and over again.

무능하고 무기력한 모습을 보이는 이유입니다.
If so, that is the reason why it is powerless and energyless.

성경에서 명령하는 기도를 할 생각도 없고, 하려고 하지도 않기 때문이지요.
It is because it is not concerned at all to pray like how it says so in the Bible.

1. 죄의 회개를 촉구하는가?
2. Does it urge your to repent?

하나님은 죄를 미워하시면 죄인을 가까이 하실 수 없는 분이십니다.
God hates sin; He cannot come near sinners.

그런데 성경은 모든 사람들이 죄인이며 의인이 한 명도 없다고 선포하고 있습니다.
But the Bible states everyone is a sinner; it says there is no righteous.

그래서 세상 사람들은 예외 없이 죄에 대해서 자유롭지 못합니다.
So people are not free from sin, no exception.

그래서 죄의 수렁에 빠져서 악한 영의 포로로 잡혀서 불행 속에서 고통스러워하는 사람들을 불쌍히 여겨, 하나님의 외아들인 예수님을 이 땅에 보내어 우리의 죄를 대신하여 십자가에서 희생당하게 하셔서, 사람들이 죄의 문제를 해결할 수 있는 통로를 열어 주셨죠.
And that is why God sent His beloved son, so he can die on the cross for our sins; he opened the doorway to Heaven for us, by showing us how to be relieved from sins.

그래서 십자의 보혈의 공로를 힘입어서 죄를 자복하고 회복하는 자마다, 죄에서 해방되어 천국에 들어가는 길이 생겼습니다.
So the right to enter Heaven is given to anyone who confesses and repents his or her sins and restore the relationship with God through the blood of Christ.

여러분은 자신의 죄를 자복하고 회개하며 예수님을 구세주로 믿고 천국에 들어갈 것을 철썩 같이 믿고 있을 겁니다.
I'm sure you are confident that you repent your sins and accept Jesus as your savior, thus, having the right to enter Heaven.

그러나 죄의 속성이 육체의 DNA안에 새겨진 사람들은 시도 때도 없이 죄를 짓고 있습니다.
But us people sin constantly; it is in our DNA.

그래서 성령의 도우심으로 죄를 깨닫고 회개하며 죄와 싸워 이기는 삶을 살아야 하죠.
So we must have help of Holy Spirit to realize our sins and fight against them all our lives.

그럼에도 불구하고 연약하고 부족하여서 어쩔 수 없이 죄를 짓는 이들이 허다합니다.
However, there are plenty of people who sin--because they are weak.

그러니 날마다 자신의 죄를 깨닫고 회개하여야 합니다.
So you must realize your sins each day and repent.

그러나 대다수의 교인들은 죄에 둔감하여 수도 없이 죄를 짓는 데도 깨닫지 못하고 회개할 생각조차 없습니다.
But majority of churchgoers are insensitive to sin; they don't even realize they are sinning, let alone repenting.

교회에서 날마다 회개를 촉구하며 죄에 민감하도록 가르쳐야 할 겁니다.
Church should teach you and urge you to be sensitive to sins.

여러분네 교회에서는 날마다 죄를 깨닫게 하고, 어쩔 수 없이 지은 죄에 대한 철저한 회개를 촉구하고 있습니까?
Does your church urge you to repent and realize what sins you have committed on daily basis?

아니라면 하나님이 가장 싫어하는 죄를 밥 먹듯이 먹으면서 죄를 높다랗게 쌓아두는 교회일 겁니다.
If not, it is probably a church that lets you sin like how you eat and leave you as is.

그러니 어떻게 그런 교회의 교인들이 천국에 들어가겠습니까?
If this is the case, how can these churchgoers enter Heaven?

1. 귀신의 정체와 공격을 알려주고 싸워 쫓아내고 있는가?
2. Does it tell you about demons and have you fight against them?

예수님이 이 땅에 오신 목적은 마귀의 일을 멸하러 오셨습니다.(요일3:8)
Jesus came down to earth to destroy evil. (1 John 3: 8)

마귀는 죄의 덫을 놓고 걸려들게 만들어서, 불행에 빠뜨려 생명과 영혼을 사냥하여 지옥으로 던져지게 하는 게 목적이기 때문입니다.
Satan sets traps of sin and make people fall into it; his goal is to hunt down souls and throw them down to Hell.

그래서 성경은 우리가 싸워야 할 대상이 세상을 지배하고 있는 악한 영들이라고 말하고 있으며(엡6:12), 정신을 바짝 차리고 마귀를 대적하라고 명령하고 있습니다.(약4:7)
So the Bible says Satan and demons are the ones we should fight against (Ephesians 6: 12), and to be alert and fight against them. (James 4: 7)

그래서 예수님은 말할 것도 없고, 사도들과 제자들은 귀신과 싸워서 쫓아내주어 영혼을 구원하고 하나님의 나라를 확장해나갔습니다.
Jesus, the apostles, and other followers fight against demons, rescued lost souls, and expanded God's kingdom.

그러나 우리네 교회에서는 귀신이야기를 좀처럼 들을 수 없습니다.
But it is really hard to hear about demons in churches today.

그러면서 귀신이야기를 터부시하고 귀신을 쫓아낸다는 사람들을 교회에서 몰아내고 있습니다.
They cast out people who claim to drive demons out and make the whole topic a taboo.

그리고는 거룩한 교회에 어떻게 귀신이 들어오고, 빛인 교인들에게 어두움인 귀신들이 어떻게 공격하느냐고 손사래를 치고 있습니다.
And they say demons cannot enter church; they say demons can't come inside people, since they are children of God.

그러면서 예수님 앞에서 베드로와 가룟유다를 속인 사탄들의 능력을 우습게 알고 있습니다.
And they take demons' power lightly--the ones who deceived Peter and Judas Iscariot in front of Jesus.

귀신들은 영혼불멸의 존재입니다.
Spirits (demons) are immortal beings.

아니라면 예수님 당시에 우글우글하던 귀신들이 죄다 어디로 갔다는 말입니까?
Where did all the demons from Jesus' time go?

귀신의 존재에 무지하고 귀신들을 쫓아낼 능력이 없는 교회는, 이미 귀신들에게 속아서 지배당하고 있는 교회입니다.
The church that does not know much about demons is already a powerless one, already deceived and controlled by them.

그래서 싸우지도 못하고 싸우려 하지도 않는 겁니다.
That's why it cannot even think about fighting back.

대다수의 교회와 목회자와 교인들이 영혼이 건조하고 냉랭하며 고단하고 팍팍하게 살아가는 이유입니다.
And that is the reason why many pastors and their followers live miserably.

여러분이 몸담고 있는 교회가 예수 그리스도의 영이 함께 하시는 교회의 증거는, 위에서 말씀드린 잣대로 분별하시면 어렵지 않게 알 수 있을 겁니다.
It is not hard to assess your church with the questions I've raised above. Those are the signs of Holy Spirit being with it.

아니라면 당신의 얼굴을 천국에서 볼 일이 없을 겁니다.
If not, there is a slim chance to see you in Heaven.

그 이유는 천국에 들어가는 방주에 타고 있지 않기 때문입니다.
You are not riding in the ark that will lead you there.
