It may amaze you to know that several people do not even know what prayer means. If you ask them, they may just tell you that prayer is talking to God. They may not be wrong but I want to expose several other things about prayer you need to know about today. So now comes the most important part of the message "What really is prayer?".

Prayer is seeking justification against the accusations of hell or the satan. Take for instance the story of job in Job 1 v 6 -12. See it below;

6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them.
7 And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
8 And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?
9 Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?
10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.
11 But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.
12 And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.

That is how the devil goes about giving false accusations about you to God but how do you respond?. How you respond matters a lot. Therefore what you need to do is "PRAY". However, there is a certain way to go about praying. If you are ready, lets roll.

How To Pray And Prevail

• Engage your heart in seeking the face of God. Several people pray with their lips and shout out loud without really communicating with their maker. Jeremiah 29 vs 13 says that;

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

That means when you go to God in prayers and seek Him with just a small part of your heart, you may never see Him in action. Therefore you have to go to a place free from distractions and seek Him diligently. You can't come to God with a divided mind and expect God to be mindful of you. Your Heart has to be set because if it is not, God can't step into your situation. Give Him a 100% percent attention and He will show in your situation.

• You must come to God reminding Him of His word which is His will for us. Jeremiah 29 verse 11 says;

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

God has good plans for us but whenever you don't see those good things (SBD and STEEM)....hahaha.. manifesting in your life, then you need to come to God reminding Him of His promises of Good (wealth, prosperity, happiness, peace, joy, laughter ) that He has promised us in the Scriptures. If you don't do this while you arr praying to God, your prayer before God may not breakthrough. You have to make sure that what is written in the word of God prevails against what people are saying about you.

• Prepare yourself in the word of God for it is the word of God that that will justify you when you are asking God for anything. Therefore, are you tired of sickness in your life, look for scriptures relevant to that are for example Isaiah 53 vs 4 - 6;

Surely he took up our pain
and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God,
stricken by him, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to our own way;
and the Lord has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.

Use the scripture above to remind God that Sickness cannot live in your body because He has promised it in His word.
Likewise, if you are poor, oh no!! remind God of 2 Corinthians 8 vs 9 which says;

For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

Once you do this, God will show forth in your situation immediately. Are you facing oppression, remind God of Luke 4 vs 18 -21 which says;

The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.

Remind Him, Remind Him, Remind Him, Remind Him, Remind Him, Remind Him and keep reminding Him

Please note that the fact that you are reminding Him does not mean that He is not aware. Just that a close mouth is a closed desiny.

Whenever you back up your prayer with God's word, the satan cannot stand you. In fact if it is possible to rehearse prayers before presenting it to God, do it. Just as we love quality right here in @steemchurch, that's how God loves quality. Give it to Him wholeheartedly.
