REMEMBER YOUR MAKER WHILES YOU HAVE BREATH

Greetings to all parishioners of Steemchurch! I would like us to share the word of God which is in line with the above title.

Our Bible Reading is taken from Psalm 90:10, and I read:

"The years of our life are seventy, or even by reason of strength eighty; yet their span is but toil and trouble; they are soon gone, and we fly away."

The Book of Psalmist points out clear that the life span of mankind of late is short and even if small would be added to the given years is full of troubles and worries for man. I think the mood of Psalmist in that context of the verse portrays ho shorten the lifespan of mankind has been as at time, let to talk of today. And this evidence that, nowadays people do not grow old and are been demised from the Earth quickly. Some people even die at the age of twenty, thirty, fourty, fifty and so on. Then we should ask ourselves what then is the cause of this short lifespan? Though there is the saying that: "The died trees break and fall, and the fresh trees also break and fall." Which implies that an old man can die and a child too can die. But looking at this contemporarily world, the rate at which the youngest die is very alarming and beyond our imagination.

It is against this background, that I have noticed the perception of mankind on their living on this Earth. For we do not remember our Maker(God) whiles we are young. We do not search for God and His words early, whiles we are at our tender age. For the Bible says: "Train up a child in a way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it"(PROVERBS 22:6). So most of us, instead of abiding by God's word so that He will bless us with long life, we start at our tender age with bad deeds and this leads us to early death. For most of us, our mindset of staying on this Earth is that; there is ample time to enjoy ourselves with material things, so that on the verge of our death. Most us love the world to the extent that we forget our Maker. We have replace our time for seeking for the world happiness, which is not the decision of God creating mankind. In this modern days we do not put God first in our heart, and that should not be the case.

MATTHEW 6:33

" But seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."

We die young, since in our youthful age much attention is given to the so call world enjoyment, such as drinking if alcohol, fornication, smoking and such behaviours which are threat to our life. For my studies, the youthful age is the stage which is most prone to victimizing with all bad behaviours which are contrary to God's words. That is why Ecclesiastes points out that we should be conscious of our youthful age.

ECCLESIASTES 12:1

"Remember now thy creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shall say, I have no pleasure in them."

Ecclesiastes is one of the Scriptures that always advises us about being careful of our lives and our time as we carry out our daily activities. Ecclesiastes admonishes as that, we do not have ample time on our side to wait for sometime before we worship God. May be the time we would be target to give ourselves to God, perhaps that time will be the end of our breath on this Earth. So there is no time to waste before you turn to God.

"The conclusion of the whole matter is that: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
For God shall bring every work into judgement, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil"(ECCLESIASTES 12:13-14).
